Join Naija, a lonely and mysterious aquatic girl, as she explores the depths of Aquaria. As her story unravels, she’ll travel from hidden caves shrouded in darkness, to beautiful sunlit oases. Control Naija with an intuitive touch screen interface. Use her singing ability to create your own music, affect nearby creatures, move pieces of the environment and even transform Naija into different beings. Combine ingredients harvested from the environment in the “cooking system” to create tasty items. Catch a ride on a seahorse or a giant turtle. Discover new costumes, treasures and hidden secrets. Challenge the ancient gods who lurk beneath the waves. GIZMODO: "With handcrafted visuals and an ethereal soundtrack, Aquaria looks, feels and plays just like a gothic fairy-tale. And it’s not just a loving pastiche of the classic 2D games of yesteryear. Aquaria brings the genre bang up to date with a fresh concept and a unique control system." (Gaming App of the Day) POCKETGAMER: "Aquaria is absolutely gorgeous, and filled with clever ideas and smart puzzles. Both a calming splash in the sea and a frantic fight against the elements, it's an essential iPad game." (Top 10 iOS Games, November 2011) TOUCHARCADE: "a gorgeous and well-produced title with a sharp emphasis on world-building and character growth." (Best iOS Games, November 2011) EDGE MAGAZINE: "Aquaria’s gloomy caverns are a delight to explore, and, a rarity for a modern Metroidvanias, the designers don’t constantly lead the way for you." Will you journey to the land beyond the surface and brave the dark sinister waters below? Will you defeat the ancient beings of Aquaria or fall prey to them? Will you find a companion or wander the waters of Aquaria alone? Guessing it'd take 9-10 hours if you weren't interested in exploring everywhere. But it is a metroidvania title, which is my favorite genre. Aside from that, the graphics, atmospheres, character+enemy models, music, controls, everything is top-notch. A joystick for movement might have been a good idea, but aside from that, I can't find one fault with this. There's also some decent puzzle elements throughout the game, which just fits in perfectly with the metroidvania/exploration gameplay. So if you rarely play those styles of games(metroidvania's), then this will take you more than what he spent on it.... that being said 10-12 hours is still good for these types of games considering the first Castlevania that used this style of game takes 8-10 hours to complete on 200%(IF you know what you are doing) and is still a costly game to get(phisically, digital copies are very cheap) TakenXXDeadly Well-Known Member Jun 7, 2011 1,304 0 0 Student #15 TakenXXDeadly, Apr 14, 2012 Buying. eAdvisory Well-Known Member Nov 22, 2011 1,090 0 0 Detroit #16 eAdvisory, Apr 14, 2012 WOW, i just watched the trailer and this game looks completely and undescribably fantasticly amazingly spectacular!!!! I've already got a ton of games I rarely get the time to play. For example, I bought Anomaly Warzone Earth HD months ago and have yet to start it up, nor have I started The Bard's Quest that I got recently, and I've only driven to the 1st safe house after the explosion on the bridge in GTA 3, and that was a few months ago....so is there any point in me buying this, regardless of how good it is as I simply do not have enough time. Another baby due in 3 weeks time will definitely make sure my gaming time is cut even more. I consider myself very lucky to get even a round or two on Uncharted 3. On top of that, is there any point of getting this game only for it to sit idle for several months and then possibly drop to £0.69/$0.99 e.g. World Of Goo HD that I bought at full price - I played it twice and haven't touched it since, then a month or two after I'd bought it the price dropped to £0.69 and I was like, " Was it worth buying the game at that time? There was no rush and I'd barely touched it, plus I lost money in the process which annoys me when I don't get my satisfaction out of a game. On the other hand, I bought The Treasures Of Montezuma 3 at full price when it was released and really enjoy it, with no complaints whatsoever, even when the price dropped. I'm so tempted to buy Aquaria but at the same time I have this gut feeling that I won't get enough time to invest in it to really get the best out of the game. Had it been $0.99/£0.69 I'd snap it up in a flash and leave it for sometime in the future. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
