Man, already going to cough up $16 for FFIII and now this. But Secret of Mana is (was) so much fun and I really wish to relive the experience. I guess after these it would be a long time before I can buy any new games.
Pass on it. The FF series, SoM, and Chaos Rings are the good ones. Now, we can add another one to the FF series, weeeee! Lara Croft is also amazing, but it's not a RPG.
Wow, $16 for FF3! That is nuts. I may have to finally get Secret of Mana at least. Definitely one of my favorites growing up.
I'd start with the first one. I actually didn't like the second one too much at all. Well, this is if you're not going to dish out for the third one haha. If you are, of course grab that first.
For the money I'd go with Final Fantasy 1 and Secret of Mana over Chaos Rings but I'm a sucker for vintage RPGs. Edit: I can't recommend or discourage Final Fantasy 2 because I haven't played it yet but hear it compares to the first.
Maybe in a perfect world FF3 will go on sale to celebrate the release of Final Fantasy Tactics [wishful thinking, I know].
Depends on your preference. Secret of Mana is more an action oriented button masher (KRPG precusor) with colorful cutesy graphics and Final Fantasy is a deeper turn based world mystery solving RPG. Both are solid but I personally prefer Final Fantasy 1. Although the storyline in Secret of Mana is more elaborate but Final Fantasy is probably the longer game. Secret of Mana may have more replay value. It's hard to directly compare the two.
