Hey all! Wanted to show you guys some screenshots from our next game, Abducted. We will have a formal announcement and trailer for our next action/adventure/horror game soon, but I wanted to get the word out. Abducted could be described as similar to Another World or Silent Hill, but will be unique and original in its own right. We're very far along and we'll be looking for beta testers shortly. We'll support all the modern iOS devices, at least iPhone 4 and up. The graphics will be retina resolution and identical across all devices: A brief note about us: We released Crow last year, a featured game on both iOS and Mac stores. We have developed our own advanced 3D engine Radiance to make our games, which has been beefed up quite a bit to make the graphics and gameplay in Abducted possible. You can see our progress on Facebook or our website. Thanks! Richard Cowgill sunsidegames.com
Is beta testing through Tesflight? I'd gladly test this, i have an iphone 5 running ios 6.1, also from the screen shots it looks similar to a point 'n' click adventure, not a slient hill type game. Could you elaborate more on the Gameplay aspects of the game?
Hell yeah! I'm excited to see a new game from you guys. Loved Crow, and this one is looking awesome already. Looking forward to hearing more.
Deaspite the heat it received, I did love Crow... So im very looking forward to seeing how this game pans out.
Hey guys, thanks! On iOS (or android, any touchscreen device for that matter) the core gameplay control scheme for Abducted will be tap-to-move. However the world is a fully 3D alien setting, and the camera is 3rd person/omniscient observer. The mood, immersion and feel is cinematic, but the game will not be about long cutscenes or taking control away from you. We prefer you have control whenever possible. Abducted will have action gameplay, puzzle gameplay, and we want to give you freedom to move, control and explore as much as possible. The game will provide you with unique intellectual challenges as well as reflex/combat challenges. There will be a central story driving events, but much of the moment to moment gameplay is filled with choices you make. As I said before we'll have more to show soon. Thanks again and take care! It's a friday night, and the feelin's right! Does anyone have any questions I can answer? =) Oh what a night! Richard Cowgill sunsidegames.com/abducted
Heya Richard -- Game looks fantastic. Is the footage for the trailer captured from the iOS version and if not, how closely will it resemble the others? Cheers.
It's actually captured from the PC, but all the quality you see is literally identical. The main difference being screen resolution, the video was recorded in 1280x720 (720p) resolution, because its ideal for youtube. The iPhone 5 runs in 1136x640 resolution, but with the pixels so small, you'd be hard pressed to see any difference. iPhone 5 and iPad 3/4 are very powerful, and with this game we wanted to take advantage of that horsepower.
