Why couldn't they have just let us early adopters have no ads like a lot of games do. Why? Bad developer. Anyway, mediocre game, ads, and ok to play for a short time, but gets repetitive. One of the few games I regret buying, but I am a shmup fan, and get almost every shmup on the market even small name ones like Alien Crusher Pro. That game is 500 times better than this one. Sigh, developer, please remove ads for the people who bought this app please if you are reading this. Not recommended! Don't mind the price drop, but nice way for us paying customers to be rewarded. Guess the developer doesn't give a damn. Just add ads and make it free. What a dweeb, never buying jack from catfish games ever again. Totally not recommended. Not just ads, of course, but I've gone over the litany of shady tactics devs and publishers employ way too many times to write another Digital Media Owners' Rights Manifesto again. Just one addition...this ISN'T helping. I've had nearly the exact same bloated iTunes Store balance for over a month (exception made for Ravensword; Crescent Moon is one of the few publishers I completely trust), and it isn't due to lack of interest in what is being released. DBC dib Well-Known Member Apr 22, 2011 307 0 16 #13 dib, Jan 13, 2013 There better not be ads. I bought the game when it launched. FYI it's not a great game. The gameplay is good. The visuals are good. I wanted to like it, and after ten minutes was ready to rave about it and tell others to check it out. That's when I realized the balance issues. Think of any shoot em up. You know those special items sometimes dropped by enemies? Imagine if your life depended on picking those up and if you failed to catch even one, the game was designed in such a way that _you will fail_. There's just no way to destroy most enemies with normal firepower. Even more confusing is that if your ship is destroyed, the game gives a second chance but starting without those upgrades making progress impossible. It would be like losing the last battle in a Final Fantay game, and given another shot but at level 1 without armor or weapons. Who knows what the developer had in mind, but they killed any fun that would have been present. I haven't bothered to update so maybe it's fixed or maybe not. Even at free it's just not worth playing to find out. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #14 awp69, Jan 13, 2013 Being a fan of Hyperlight, I also got this at launch and found it somewhat fun at first, but overall very average and didn't stay on my device long.
