Cook, Serve, Delicious isn’t Filet Mignon, but it is an awesome, consistently delicious meal." -Gamezebo.com "Overall, “Cook, Serve, Delicious!” is a wonderfully addictive game that takes the best parts of Diner Dash, Hot Dog King, and Restaurant Empire and crams them all into one nice, meaty package. It will definitely test your reflexes and can be a bit nuts at times in terms of difficulty, yet it manages to keep you engaged in a way that encourages you to do better. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy time management and simulation games." -Vincent Paone, dadsgamingaddiction.com "There's an odd appeal to this game." -Ryan Davis, Giantbomb.com "This seems like a cool game... I just want a corndog..." -Jeff Gerstmann, Giantbomb.com *** Cook, Serve, Delicious is a strategic restaurant sim, one of the few in its genre that gives the players total control over where they want to take their restaurant. The game centers on an old, worn down restaurant in the SherriSoda Tower, which was once the heart of the building but closed down as business (and tenants) dropped to an all time low. But with the local economy rising back up and occupancy reaching its maximum, SherriSoda Tower has decided to bring back the old Cook, Serve, Delicious restaurant, and has given you complete control to bring it back to its old five star status of world class dining. To do that, you’ll start with a few thousand dollars and thirty foods to choose from to put on your menu, as well as a host of restaurant equipment and more. Nearly everything is unlocked from the start of the game for you to purchase; this is your restaurant, and you must figure out the best strategy to get that restaurant packed with satisfied customers. Can you prove your culinary skills? And if that weren’t enough, you’ll also have the opportunity to be cast in the Iron Cook television show, throw parties for offices in SherriSoda Tower, read virtual mail in your SherriSoda Tower Email account which ranges from game tips to crazy spam, from customers providing feedback to your restaurant to opportunities to being able to fund projects via "ClicknStart" and other big surprises! With hours of content and tons of secrets and unlockables, Cook, Serve, Delicious will provide a big challenge for anyone who’s ready to take their crumbling, rat infested eatery to a luxurious Platinum Star Restaurant. Good luck, and be sure to visit cookservedelicious.com for more news on everything related to the game and future expansions! Anyone who is able to recommend a decent starting menu for a beginner to get into this? Happy W Well-Known Member Apr 28, 2011 82 0 0 #11 Happy W, Apr 25, 2013 Hmm. I'm only up to day 12 or something, but if I could turn back time then I would never have purchased the Corn Dogs or the Pretzels. They make very little money, can't be upgraded, don't get tips, create negative buzz when there's other unhealthy food on the menu, and I won't even have the option of using them once I've earned a couple of stars. Actually, I don't think I've had 'em on my menu since day 2. Waste of money. I'd suggest a starting menu of Soda and Salad (both staples) and then a rotating menu of Lasagne, Fish and Chicken Breast. None of those take quite as long as the Soup to prep, I think. They'll all upgrade. No negative buzz (except for the fish in the mornings). All but the Soda will attract tips. But I'd practice making the Soup in the meantime, so you can add it to your menu as another staple when a fifth slot opens up. I'm very happy with my purchase of the Dishwasher washing-up has got to be the chore that takes the longest, and it was resulting in lots of impatient customers for me. The Dishwasher cuts the chore down from 5 repetitions to 3, which can make all the difference during rush hour. Does that help any? CT Eon Well-Known Member Jun 19, 2012 85 0 6 Melbourne #12 CT Eon, Apr 30, 2013 Will definitely give those a go when I can pull myself away from real racing 3 I was very happy with fish considering the amount of time needed to prepare aka not very long. Initially I had pizza and lasagne as well but the amount of toppings available took a while so I probably need loads of practice. Appletini Well-Known Member Jan 8, 2011 2,564 0 0 Ankh-Morpork #14 Appletini, Apr 30, 2013 You can leave fish on the menu permanently, and easily ignore the minimal negative buzz it generates, as the benefits outweigh the drawbacks quite noticeably. Leave salad on as well. Quite frankly, you should simply never bother with soup; it's a massive waste of time and energy that isn't worth the money it makes when compared to most of the other dishes, and it's too easy to go pear-shaped when things get busy during rush hours. There's a couple of very good reasons why we don't make soup to order like that in actual restaurants, and the way that item is handled in the game demonstrates one of those reasons in a very obvious way. For a potential CSD! 2, I'd suggest two phases for each day in the game: an initial "prep" phase, where you deal with all the basic ingredients to form a supply for the day based on your menu (chopping vegetables, boning fish, tenderising and marinating meat, making soup, etc., with the possibility of buying pre-processed ingredients to skip some of the work), and a "service" phase similar to the current one, where you prepare dishes using those ingredients, possibly subtracting any food you've ruined during the first phase. Thus, soup would have the time-consuming "chop vegetables into a pot" in the prep phase, and then a much more manageable "ladle, garnish, croutons" during service. I also think the selection of menu items needs to be tweaked somewhat, as right now the list seems to be significantly unbalanced in terms of the number of "fatty" foods on the roster.
