It really smells of a freemium conversion though it could be a generous dev too. Guess we'll see. If it's a freemium conversion, I'll just completely pass. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,239 179 63 #16 Royce, Sep 10, 2013 ??? The game is already paidmium. To make a freemium "conversion" would simply mean making it free. No other changes would be necessary... Also, the update notes indicate they are reducing, not increasing, the freemiumness. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #17 nightc1, Sep 10, 2013 Hopefully everything they wrote for the update is true and it's being tweaked to be a more proper paid game. I'm all for giving the dev the benefit of the doubt. But there's a slight smell of a freemium conversion and if that happens the note about reducing the freemium-quality of the game will be the lure to get people to blindly trust the update. But really I hope it's a legit paidmium game going more true paid with a free promo to get reviews and move up the charts. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #18 awp69, Sep 10, 2013 My only concern is that the same release notes are on Google Play and they can't go back to paid there. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,239 179 63 #19 Royce, Sep 10, 2013 Possibly Freyr doesn't know this? I've seen numerous devs screwed because they didn't know their apps would remain free unless pulled and relisted as a separate app. Or maybe they are going with free until a certain level, then pay? Or maybe they are just counting on IAP to get them through, which would of course mean freemium. I still argue there's no reason to get huffy about it. The game is what it is. It has always been a paid game with freemium monetization strategies (paidmium, though one of the best paidmiums I've played) so I don't really see why there's concern over some "conversion". Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #20 Exact-Psience, Sep 10, 2013 ^Im with Royce on this. Despite the IAPs, this game is more premium than most premiums with IAPs. I finished it twice without any IAPs, solo (i bought some IAP on the second run through to support the devs, as i was having tons of fun with this one). There were rare points in the game where i was grinding for a couple levels up, but not something that took forever to do. Make sure you get it free. I've had tens of dollars worth off this for completing it twice with 2 classes already. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
