I love the randomized dungeons but it feels half baked in content (there's only so many compelling ways to arrange orcs and spiders in corridors), I think IAP would help make WHQ a better game but decline to keep pumping money into it. Implementing some of the rule sets like winds of magic is brilliantly done and others seem to love WHQ so it might be worth $0.99 to try if there's anyone who hasn't already yet. mrbiggles Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2012 3,691 0 0 Like retired USA #6 mrbiggles, Feb 7, 2014 what a deal expect it but not so soon. figure now they push the iaps and extra quests Topherunhinged Well-Known Member Feb 7, 2014 422 0 0 #7 Topherunhinged, Feb 7, 2014 Too bad I bought it 3 weeks ago, oh well, just another reason not to bother with the games IAP. Highly recommended! Laenor Well-Known Member Apr 11, 2013 357 56 28 Paris, France #11 Laenor, Feb 7, 2014 The game itself isn't where the real price is. It's the IAP that is REALLY, REALLY pricey. And without the IAP, the game is "okay" at best vii-Lucky Well-Known Member Jul 28, 2013 1,611 0 0 #12 vii-Lucky, Feb 7, 2014 Time to get the GOTY! So are the IAPs but they are very optional. 1776-1865_RIP Well-Known Member Dec 12, 2011 148 0 0 #15 1776-1865_RIP, Feb 7, 2014 That was the impression I got and why I passed on it originally. Guess for a buck I'll give it a try. They can piss up a rope on the IAP though, I may only be one person but on principle I don't bother with freemium or any IAP scheme. MrMojoRisin Well-Known Member Jul 27, 2012 1,183 0 0 #17 MrMojoRisin, Feb 7, 2014 I buy IAP now and then when it's cheap and obviously a good deal. Like I have bought all the expansions for Ascension, for exsmple. But when IAP costs as much as or more than the game itself, that's when I call shenanigans and boycott that crap. MrMojoRisin Well-Known Member Jul 27, 2012 1,183 0 0 #18 MrMojoRisin, Feb 7, 2014 Easily. There is still a lot of content in the base game, enough that I even felt justified in getting it at full price, so $.99 is a no-brainer. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,493 2 36 Houston, TX #19 undeadcow, Feb 7, 2014 Last edited: Feb 7, 2014 No. I loathe the base Warhammer Quest. Worst purchase of 2013 for me. Repetitive levels with very few different enemies and "quests" that repeat content. There are tons of other better turn based strategy games with more content and better design for less. Go buy the Kingturn games instead, try World to Conquer, Gurk III, check out Partia, Tactical Soldier, etc etc. Edit: I do understand the point it's a board game port and appreciate those elements; but with that awareness still feel WHQ base is under-developed.
