    Dear touchgamers,

there's one thing which really annoys me:
More and more games are published as normal & HD version.
This is fine for games with more depth or additional HD features/UI
but NOT for simple high score games.
I'm not complaining about the money & willing to pay more for a universal app
but as I'm playing on iPhone & iPad most of my friends are playing
on iPhone/touch only I can't compare my highscores with them
when playing the HD version on my iPad

I've decided not to by the HD version anymore and prefer to just
play the upscaled standard version on iPad because of this.

    What's your opinion about that?

I still crack up laughing every time I see that picture (Cool Story Bro) =)

But to be honest, I agree completely. Maybe suggest it to the devs? All it would take is an update to adjust the high scores, but this could be controversial as it would move the high score rankings. It would depend on how popular the game is. I reckon they should leave it as it is, and as you yourself have stated, if you feel the need to, you can always play an upscaled version =)

I agree. For games where high-scores mean a lot, you definitely need to go universal.
What's the point of having a high score on the iPad, when you know someone on the iPhone version is way higher.

There's a reason why they are different high scores: Some games are easier to play on the iPad than the iPhone. This is why developers make separate apps, so it's fair (and also for more money :D)

    I suppose thats true.
And vice-versa. Sometimes games are easier on the iPhone.

A couple examples are Flight Control and Fruit Ninja. Way easier on the ipad than the touch

Right, and I've found that some games are hard on the ipad, especially with on-screen controls, due to you having to reach for the certain controls. On the iPhone, they're much closer.

    I have to disagree here!

if i upscale the iphone version on the iPad I can still use the larger screen size,
but there's no way to prevent the advantages of us using the larger screen anyway
    it just looks worse
