    From the makers of FINAL FANTASY and FINAL FANTASY II comes a brand new RPG masterpiece for the iPhone and iPod touch!!

    CHAOS RINGS takes full advantage of the iPhone and iPod touch’s capabilities. Using a classic game system that any RPG fan will enjoy, it presents an epic tale consisting of four different scenarios, all brought to you with gorgeous sound and unbelievably smooth 3D graphics.

    The story revolves around a tournament where combatants fight for their lives: the Ark Arena. Upon choosing a pair of characters, one male and one female, you will then have to fight against the other pairs. Each pair has their own story, and the truth behind the Ark Arena will not be revealed until each story is completed.

    Game Features;
    -Amazingly smooth 3D graphics

    -Gorgeous sound that takes full advantage of the iPhone and iPod touch’s powerful hardware

    -A deep story with unique twists for every pair and multiple endings

    -Traditional game and battle systems polished to perfection

    -Hours upon hours of gameplay, complete with hidden bosses, secret weapons, and more

    Media reviews;

    - The New York Times

    Chaos Rings is the only title I will be playing for quite some time, outside of my normal review requirements.
    - 148Apps

    The turn-based fighting is gratifying and never got old, and the story and character development remains immersive even in short play sessions.
    - Touch Arcade

    The iPhone finally has its own triple-A Square Enix RPG that actually reaches the heights of a Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger.
    - Slide to Play

    The story, and characters found within Chaos Rings are the most interesting and intriguing I have come across for the iPhone, and perhaps I have to go back to Final Fantasy VII to find it’s equal.

    Definitely time to pick these up if you haven't already done so. They're pretty much the best original iOS JRPGs.

    Just spend the extra .99 for the iPad version. The higher resolution artwork can only look better, especially for a beautifully designed game.

    Basically yes, but if I remember correctly, your initiative/speed determines who goes first. You and your partner are assigned actions together, since you can decide between Solo and Pair (team) actions.

    Check the chaos rings thread. I recall on release that a lot of people playing on the iPad since there wasn't an iPad version. I remember someone saying the art looked great but I think the text was a little muddy.

    You could also wait until tomorrow when I get my new iPad and I'll post how the iPhone version looks in 2x on that :)

    Im going through Omega atm but since these are the strongest storylines I've seen in the AppStore, and the fact that they did base game, prequel, sequel. I'd play them in the order they were intended to be played, i.e. get CR and wait a bit for Omega.

    (but then again I love storylines)

    I like CR1's story much more than Omega's (which is rather stupid, IMHO). With the cave-out that you really need to play all couples in the 1 to get the whole story and appreciate it's quality.
    Also, the couple that most people start with in CR1 - the one with Escher (the white-haired dude), has the weakest story. All the rest are much better.

    Omega is entirely skippable, IMHO - it is a little prettier, but uses a lot of re-colored areas from 1, the story is much worse and contradicts that of 1 as well as spoils the great revelation of 1 if you play it first, combat is slightly better balanced, but it is not good enough to make up for it's other shortcomings.

    I regret having bought Omega during the last sale. Should have picked one of FFs, particularly since they are not even discounted this time around - and what's the deal with that?
