Why bother when they can sell it all day long for $15 on Steam and likely not more than $2.99 on the iPhone?
Well, with the Steam cred they might be able to do $6.99 on the iPhone. But you're right: why put the money and effort when they're raking it in on the PC/Steam market?
I played in their beta a ton, the whole interface and a lot of the controls would have to be redesigned... Not to mention completely reworking all the models and assets to work on the iPhone instead of a reasonably specced gaming PC. It would be a massive undertaking.
True, but once think about it this way: its May, and sales have slowed down to almost nothing. They could then bring over their game to the iPhone, get name recognition, and potentially top the App Store charts. Its not an illogical business practice.
Yea, it's not like every existing NimbleBit game has been featured by Apple or anything. They totally need to bring over *another* kart racer to hit it big. It's so easy to port a PC only game to the iPhone, too! Moron.
Why is he a moron because he thinks it would be a good business practice to port PC games to the iPhone? He's actually right. I've heard some pretty good things about this game from PC users and the graphics look fantastic. Maybe once their sales have died down, they will bring this to the iPhone. I'm hopeful.
So once the sales slow, you're saying they should spend more time and money to make even less selling the game for 2.99?
It's called opening new markets (see, for example, CoD: Zombies). However much it costs to port the game to the iPhone, those costs would be a fraction of the original development budget. I can imagine that there is a price-point that could justify the endeavor -- my guess is that it's more than $2.99.
Yeah, but the iPhone needs some new kart racers. I loved Crash Bandicoot, Krazy Kart, Cro-Mag, Shrek Kart, Cocoto Kart, and Glacier Racer, but I need a new challenge!
regardless Nimblebit said they're not porting it, right? why get in cat-fights over it? everybody hug I SAID HUG!!!!
