Damn' my brain. Btw, no Gamecenter, but i can't play it anyways, pity. One more btw, the game looks really gorgeous. Good luck to the solo Dev! icoker Well-Known Member Mar 26, 2013 652 10 18 #5 icoker, Oct 14, 2015 Love portrait oriented games. Also I hope, the controls for left/right can be placed on a half of the screen with some automatic throttle... NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #10 NOEN, Oct 14, 2015 This game is definitely pretty fun. It can get frustrating at times at how tough some of the later tracks can be and with other racers rear ending you and causing you to downshift. I'll leave a more detailed impression later, but as of right now, it's a pretty decent arcade racer. It's reminds me of some of the old arcade games like Daytona USA. Like I said, it can get pretty tough at times. Oh, controls are either tap left side to turn left and right side to turn right or there's a little slider on the left side of the screen where you can kind of roll your thumb left to right to steer. Both controls use auto-accelerate. Like I said, I'll leave better impressions after I dig into it a little more if you want to wait for them, but as of right now, it's worth $1.99 IMO. hvianna Well-Known Member Jun 14, 2012 734 7 18 Male IT Analyst / Webmaster Brazil #11 hvianna, Oct 15, 2015 I wonder how it runs/looks on the iPad mini 2. The controls are wonky. And you constantly have to keep shifting because the sob's keep hitting you. Ugh. Two handed game play in portrait is uncomfortable to say the least. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #13 NOEN, Oct 15, 2015 Ugh. The bikes that hit you from behind are frustrating as hell. You can one hand the game tho. On the left side of the screen, there's a steering slider for single handed gameplay. That's basically the AI cheating. I'll pass on this unless the devs decide to change things. It does look like a beautiful game. Billy Quoad Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2015 1,094 205 63 #18 Quoad, Oct 15, 2015 It's not cheating. It's just old skool unsophisticated. It reminds me of Tomyvision's racing games from the 80s. Thing I hate: left-thumbed steering on a frankly pants system. The right-thumbed gear changes frankly aren't great (particularly when being whacked from behind). Yeah. Loved the look of it. Wouldn't buy again, without major control changes. (Lack of AI doesn't bother me that much, perhaps because I'm a child of the 80s...) korkidog Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Apr 12, 2012 153 0 16 Illinois #19 korkidog, Oct 16, 2015 Not a fan of the controls and as others have said, having opponents hit you from behind gets old pretty quick. hvianna Well-Known Member Jun 14, 2012 734 7 18 Male IT Analyst / Webmaster Brazil #20 hvianna, Oct 16, 2015 So, answering my own question, it runs fine on the iPad Mini 2. I had some stuttering in a couple of stages, but it could be just stupid iOS 9. It took me a minute to get used to the controls - the tutorial could mention that g-forces will pull your bike outside the track during curves, so you have to compensate for that. The game is definitely fun! I think the devs did a great job keeping it simple like the 80's arcade games, while making it visually impressive! Engine sounds could be better though. The opponents hitting you from behind isn't much of a problem IMO, but it can be a little frustrating on the narrow stages. Maybe some visual cue would help, but I don't know if it wouldn't make the game too easy. For the sake of comparison, I still find Horizon Chase's AI much more infuriating. I really would love to see more stages added, and/or an endless mode, since the game is kinda short right now. GameCenter leaderboards (for both game modes ) would be great too.
