Great news - we're submitting any day now, and Heroes & Castles will be live early January (I'll get back to you with a specific date soon)! We're really pleased with how the game turned out, and believe that its a game you'll pick up and play and say "Cool - there is nothing else out there like this." Anyway, here are just a couple more screens to hold you over
There Is just so much you can add to a game like this! I really hope it goes big so you'll do content updates
@pylos we've got at least a few content updates already in the works Run button (green bar is the duration).
Can't wait to try it, got it on my list of games to get... will it have multiplayer? sorry if I didnt find that
Yep - 2p co-op is in for release. We've also got some interesting pvp modes (attack v defend) in the works for the future
i still think a rat head sticking out would be better, but this'll do in a pinch (that poor guy must've had a good dental plan)
Thanks Haha... well, it is a skull in there We do have 2 version actually (empty helmet vs skull in helmet) - but the skull is actually kind of important bc the undead is the primary enemy that you'll be fighting.
Despite being a big zombie and horror movie fan I don't like the skull because it seems too strong\gory. Keep in mind that althoug dismembered body parts are great, it's important that there be a build up or it just comes across as over the top. The colors of the new icon are much nicer and work better as an iOS icon but the skull strikes me as very off. It looks awkwardly not dead but not alive; maybe it's the angle of tilt because physics wise I'm sure a dismembered head would not land on it's neck (so it looks more alive than dead in "body language". I also wonder if Apple would express concerns because I understand they have been known to censor some things of this nature. I say keep the helmet (which is iconic looking) but ditch the skull. Araczynski's rat idea is a nice subtle creepier suggestion. \rant
Interesting, never even considered the term "gory" with the skull icon at all! I like them both and am not quite sold on one or the other yet, but we'd appreciate one final vote, if you don't mind vs.
I like the one without the skull, personally. It just...feels more suited to what I've seen about the game. The one with the skull would have to have a lot darker atmosphere, more gory combat, etc for me to prefer it. Of course, I haven't played the game yet and don't really know what I'm talking about, so take my 2 cents with a grain of salt From what I've seen of the game, it doesn't have a menacing tone like, say, NYZ or Dead Space. An icon with skull or really anything representing deaths carnage, terror etc would be perfectly suited to those games, but I think H&C is more oriented towards creative gameplay.
