Numerous adds a refreshingly addictive twist to a traditional but wildly popular 'clear the numbers' game formula. In the basic game rule, you drop number tiles onto a game board from the top, and number tiles that equal the number of tiles in a contiguous row or column of tiles are removed. There are hidden tiles which must be revealed by removing its neighbouring tiles before they can be used. As game level increases, a new row of hidden tiles are added from the bottom, so you must clear the tiles as fast as you can. Numerous adds a new twist to this: if you trigger chains of removals, you earn bonus items that you can use to get you out of knotty situation. These bonus items are: - increment item, which adds 1 to a tile value. - decrement item, which subtracts 1 from a tile value. - swap item, which interchanges two tiles. - bomb, which reveal or remove a tile. As the level increases, hidden rows rise faster, but more bonus item slots are opened up, thus requiring you to gradually change your strategy. As you are free to apply the bonus items to any tile you like, you're always in control of the situation, even as it progressively becomes insanely challenging. Features of the game: - Refreshing, addictive twist to a classical number game formula. - Challenge you to change your strategy as level increases. - 10 leaderboards that pit you against the world's best, and 10 achievements to unlock. Numerous is brought to you by the creator of Orion Nebula, Letter Hound, Spell Quest, Word Edge, Beautiful Worm, Number Pharaoh, Primary, Word Bridge, Kungfu Brain, Digi Crush, Super Math Invaders and Memon's Quest. Game Impressions Drop 7 fans - worth a look at this one. There are some different mechanics, and some ways for getting out of tight spots. Has iAds, and the graphics are not retina quality. I don't play with sound, so I can't discuss that, but for all those that loved Drop 7, here is something to scratch the itch.. Some may like it, some may not. I think it's pretty reasonable. Worth a look at least.
Polished and fun. Shame about the ads. Hope a premium version comes out - this one's worth paying for.
hi pluto and sciuridae, thank you for your reviews . sciuridae, I hear you. I'm trying to prepare an 'ads-free' IAP for some of my more popular titles, such as Spell Quest. It will come to Numerous soon .
hi carloz, thank you for trying my game. the sounds are all pitch-shifted version of the original sounds, in order to deliver the kind of subtle, near-bass sound befitting this kind of thinking game.
I've submitted a version with 'No ads' IAP to Apple for review. It should come out sometime next week ... p.s. Someone scored 9 million points and reached level 126 in Numerous. My personal record was only level 50. Can you do better than Stinkymcpete on the Game Center leaderboards of Numerous?
Like the game but keep getting an app crashing error. If I press on the right side of my screen in the black border a " title: fatal error in action number 1 of mouse events for glob left released....." Happens every time. I'm on an iPhone 4.
thank you very much for your feedback, johnnie. the game has been patched and it's now live. I appreciate your help! the latest version also supports IAP for removing advertisement. Thank you everyone for your support!
Thanks for the update! I still think this is a lovely, polished, sleek game. Just bought the no ads IAP, and I noticed a few glitches. First, when buying the IAP, I got a 'store unavailable' popup a few times before the correct prompt came up. The app store was available for all other apps at the time. Second, I had to enter my password twice. This is a pretty common glitch for me, though, and happens on more than half of my IAP purchases. Third, the only sign that the IAP has been purchasejd is the quiet disappearance of the banner ad. Expected behavior: once purchased, the purchase option is removed and only the. Restore IAP option remains. A thank you popup would be nice as purchase confirmation, too. Finally, since buying the IAP the game prompts me for my password on startup. Pressing 'cancel' allows the game to proceed normally, with no ads, but this should be fixed.
hi sciuridae, Thank you very much for supporting my work May I know whether you're a developer? Are you using iOS7? Before I released the latest patch, I was aware of the IAP problems you mentioned. However, since there is an urgent bug for me to fix, I had to prioritize that. For the issue of multiple prompts, I don't seem to have any control over it, as my code only prompts the user once. This seems to be an iTunes issue. For other suggestions, I'll look into them. Hopefully, I can fix it fast. Thank you so much!
Thanks sciuridae, I'm taking your feedback seriously, so I'm contacting tech support of my development software for help now. Meanwhile, if anyone else still encounters crashes or bugs, or if you've any suggestions, please feedback to me. Thanks for making Numerous better .
hi sciuridae, I've fixed the startup iTunes login prompt issue and released a patch to Apple for review. I hope it will go live soon. Thank you for your patience. EDIT: the update is live! it took Apple just 1 day to review and publish the new patch! wow!
hi johnnie, the music off feature will be coming up VERY soon, now that I've finished fixing the critical issues. thank you for your patience!
A new version of Numerous has been submitted to Apple for review. It contains - A brand new 'race mode' + 10 more leaderboards in Game Center. - A sound on/off setting. I shall keep you informed when it has gone 'live'. Thank you for your support!
thank u for the quick work...i laid down to play a quick game that ended up at lvl 78 and 535 turns and on the lead boards....love this game.
hi johnnie, thank you for playing! For your information, a fan proudly shared the following pic with me. He reached level 148. It's a pity that he didn't turn on Google Play Game Services to record his monumental achievement ... Once you've become a veteran, I hope you'll enjoy the 'race mode' that comes with the next update.
