I was curious what devs get out of the Free app Starbucks promotions. Free coffee for life? Can any devs please explain how the process works. Did you devs get an email from Starbucks saying they were interested? How do they figure out which apps to do their promotions? I know I have many questions but it would be great if someone could shed some light on this? Thanks!
I don't know if there is any compensation for the developers but I look at it as free marketing. They allow Starbucks to give one of their games away and in return thousands of people are introduced to a game (developer) that maybe they otherwise would never have heard of. Also if there is any IAP in the game it can drum up some money that way. It also possibly opens people up to checking out more games from said developer.
