No idea about what the gameplay mechanism is, but it does look pretty cool. Looks polished, and original
Linkoidz is a great game. We love it. Panda Picnic is primarily you vs another player. The only way to play is multiplayer.
Their is a great deal of strategy involved in the game play also. Many decisions to make during your turn: which fruit to try and collect, steal fruit so your opponent can't get it, place fruit to block your opponent, spin slot machine for better fruit or powerups, use your shots to collect more coins so you have more slot machine spins next turn, etc. It is a very different game then Linkoidz, Bust a Move and Bubble Burst. It's inspired by those games but very different when you combine the turn based strategic aspect of it.
Cause I helped design the game along with Jeff (drjest) and I created all of the art as well I would be happy to answer any other questions about the game. Were very excited about it and thinks its a lot of fun.
