So out of spite I made a Flappy bird clone some months ago, named it Candy Bird Saga. A month after release, King.com complained to Apple about my game's title. So I got it changed toKitty Bird Saga (because you control a little cat-owl thingy, the original designer called it a Meowl).

And now King is still not happy with the title, because apparently whatever words that appears in any of their game's title, the rest of us can't use.

They sent me this email on 8th July today, and expect my changes to be up in the store by 14th July.

Anything with the word candy or saga will get you a letter from king

Am tempted to rename it "KingDotCom's Flappy Bird". Anyone knows if its trademarked by them as well? I know "King.com" was trademarked

Sorry but if you didnt want to be bugged by them you shouldnt have called it Candy Bird Saga. What did you expect ?

If you dont want to be hassled by them forget with all the 'KingDotCom's Flappy Bird' type threats/names

    All seems a bit ridiculous

The name candy bird saga was an attempt to leverage their brand.

You are still trying to come up with ways to leverage their brand. Seems legit to me in this case.

Wow really, I was just wondering what words are "taken" like that. Also heard that the word Memory was copyrighted or whatever by some German company.
