I've been looking forward to episode 4 for ages. The first episode is free at the moment. If your into chilled exploration puzzle games I highly recommend it. TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #3 TheGreatEscaper, Jul 16, 2016 Wow! How did I not know about this series??? Just played through the first episode and thought it was wonderful. Just bought the rest of the series! Can't wait to play through them ZS77 Well-Known Member May 8, 2015 566 2 18 #4 ZS77, Jul 16, 2016 Just downloaded thinking it looks intriguing - ok, it's free, very pretty and very smooth but the first episode is incredibly short.....and by that, I mean less than 5 minutes to complete! Thought it might offer more but no such luck, step through the portal and it just says 'To Be continued', obviously in the subsequent paid appisodes (see what I did there! #)..... ....and charging a premium for those is fine - but I would want some serious reassurances that the following chapters are way, way longer before investing in them. If this was a paid episode, it would be criminally short....really can't express enough how short this is. But pretty. Although I should also add, the puzzle (singular, as there is only one) isn't that complicated and relies more on hidden entrances than logic or lateral thinking. TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #5 TheGreatEscaper, Jul 16, 2016 I only discovered this series today. As ZS77 says, this first, free chapter is very short. Took me much longer than 5 minutes though!!! I think that's a bit of an underestimation for average solving time. I'd say 15 minutes for most people. Having been convinced by this game's graphical loveliness and for the sheer fact that first person puzzle games are sadly very rare, I took the plunge and bought all three other chapters at once! I'm currently working through episode 2, I'm around 60% through it, with a bit over an hour invested in it. Episode 2 is much longer and a huge improvement over the first game. The environment is more nuanced, the area is more structured, and the puzzles are more logical/creative thinking oriented than the puzzle in this chapter. And, it's longer. Much longer! If that's the reassurance you need to go further into the series then know that you're definitely getting your money's worth with the other games. I'm really enjoying my time with episode 2. Basically, think of this as a free trial puzzle for the series. The graphics are lovely, and games of this type are one in a billion on the App Store. The last game that I played remotely like this was Kairo, which I absolutely loved. Unfortunately that's now been pulled from the App Store, which is a shame. If you like the atmosphere, environment, and the idea of an exploration/first person/puzzle game, then I'd definitely recommend you buy the next chapters! ZS77 Well-Known Member May 8, 2015 566 2 18 #6 ZS77, Jul 16, 2016 @TheGreatEscaper Thanks for your impressions, I thought that may be the case but the lack of 'depth' to the puzzle on episode 1 made me worry the rest of the game may be just as flat. Seriously though, really did only take me 5-6mins tops. The only bit that took me a minute to think about was how to get to the upper levels (via the 'hidden' entrances) - the rest was run to pedestal 1, turn to engage the light, repeat through the others and flick a couple of switches. Don't get me wrong, it was nicely done - very fluid controls and nice visuals - just didn't ignite a fire as far as complexity goes and, with the length issue, that lead to my concern over the rest of the game. Hopefully between us we've managed to steer people right though and that's what it's all about! # Leegames Well-Known Member Jul 1, 2010 1,083 0 0 Ex. game journalist and EiC now PR Denmark #7 Leegames, Jul 16, 2016 Took me about 15 minutes as well. Some walkthrough videos are at 10. And the same kind of videos for episode 2 lasts 50 minutes, so I guess this is just a short teaser. Beautiful game though and worth trying, so thanks for the headsup, your review was spot on... your comment about only lasting 5 minutes is actually what made me download as I only had a tiny bit of time to play. TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #8 TheGreatEscaper, Jul 17, 2016 Just finished episode 3. Each successive game in the series only gets bigger, better, more beautiful and more brainbending. If first person puzzling interests you at all, take the dive into the rest of the series. They're much more intricate and interesting than this first 'lite' chapter. Episode 2 has around 5/6 large puzzles, most of which are much more complicated and require more planning and thought than the single puzzle in this. The last puzzle in particular was absolutely brilliant, lots of thought, planning, and creative thinking needed to solve it. Episode 3 has roughly 3 areas, each of which you must visit several times to solve various puzzles. It didn't quite have a puzzle which astounded me in the same way the finale of Episode 2 did, but I definitely appreciated the more intricate and interesting world design, and the inclusion of optional easter egg puzzles, not all of which I managed to work out. Can't wait to play through episode 4. TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #9 TheGreatEscaper, Jul 17, 2016 Just finished the first 3 episodes, they were brilliant. Can't wait to play this one now! TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #10 TheGreatEscaper, Jul 17, 2016 Reached the ending of episode 4, and, I believe, the series! Definitely a fitting conclusion and a great final series of puzzles to go off on. Highly recommended, this series has been really enjoyable for me and will join The Room (among others) as one of my favorite iOS puzzle series. jedmm New Member May 7, 2015 4 0 0 #11 jedmm, Jul 19, 2016 Bought episode two and having fun so far! Got to end of game four, will there be more? TheGreatEscaper Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2014 1,025 22 38 #13 TheGreatEscaper, May 31, 2017 This is one of the best overlooked games I can think of. I think episode 4 was a good conclusion to the bits of storyline here and there. I just hope the dev receives enough support on these games so that they can make more pretty, creative, and intriguing puzzle adventure games. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
