Jack Lumber is ‘Poplar’ With the Press! 4 out of 4, A Must Have! "Between the excellent art style, goofy humor, and enjoyable gameplay, Jack Lumber is as lovable as its rugged hero. It's the stuff of App Store legends." - Andrew Podolsky | Slide to Play G4 GAME OF THE WEEK! "...A funny (and solid!) story, hilarious power-ups, and non-intrusive IAP. Jack Lumber is an easy shoe-in for one of this year’s best iOS games." - Ashley Esqueda | G4 'Knuckle Up' 148Apps EDITOR'S CHOICE! "Jack Lumber is completely ridiculous and I love it. It’s easy to pick up and play, has plenty of laughs, and actually has a great number of levels to go along with it. Put on some flannel, grow out that beard, and chop some wood." - Carter Dotson | 148Apps "The addition of super-hard four-star scores and difficulty-upping beards keep the replay value high. Jack Lumber injects a welcome layer of depth and strategy into the casual touch-slicing genre. The title is a great combination of frantic finger action and smart combo scoring." - Justin Davis | IGN "Axe-identally in love; funny and addictive, and has tremendous respect for the player. Jack Lumber is quirky, stylized, and unlike anything on iOS." - Chris Plante | The Verge A LUMBERJACK WITH AN AXE TO GRIND A tree killed his granny and now he is out for revenge. AFTER I finished the game I had to send the devs a little IAP as a thank you. Getting 4 stars on every level will ruin you. Jazzpha Well-Known Member Apr 26, 2012 776 16 18 #7 Jazzpha, Dec 18, 2012 From what I can tell, it's a game that has mechanics similar to Fruit Ninja (swipe to slice), but with a lot more of a focus on precision and timing, rather than just hacking things to bits as fast as you can. JCman7 Well-Known Member Jul 6, 2009 2,548 3 36 Mechanical Engineering NY #8 JCman7, Dec 18, 2012 How did you get it for free it has only been on sale for $.99 before. Promo code maybe? I've had this on my appshopper wish list since it came out Andy C83 Well-Known Member Oct 20, 2010 3,627 20 38 Over the Rainbow #9 Andy C83, Dec 18, 2012 Last edited: Dec 18, 2012 Hmm, you're right. Checking app shopper shows that the game hasn't been free before, only 69p. Could have sworn I got it for free, which is why I felt extra compelled to purchase an IAP which I don't don't normally do. Definitely was not a promo code. Anyhoo, I must be mistaken. Regardless, the game is super fun and so worth 69p/99c. If you go nuts, hacking any which way, you'll fail. The later stages are HARD, and during the game you'll be able to equip beards that make the game harder in some way, but increases your score multiplier. Seriously, this game was close to being in my top 10 of the year, I enjoyed it that much. I'd like to add that IAP are not needed at all, you hardly notice them. I only bought IAP after I finished the game. Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #11 Connector, Dec 18, 2012 Top 10? But even AppsFire & AppTicker don't show it going free at any point either. It must have been a super limited time offer. There wasn't even a thread on TA about it dropping to free. Just the same few times it dropped to $0.99. I'm not calling you out as the dev slumming to get IAP tips or anything... I have seen a few deals come an go in an hour that never showed up in my app trackers. I think the devs sometimes do that to get reviews from friends since you can't review a game when you get the code to download it free, but if the game is priced free you can review it.
