This looks really neat, and will be keeping my eye on it, but... man... I hate silverfish. Just looking at that little guy gives me shivers.

Something to do with staying in dodgy hotels in Prague and having to sweep them out of my bed nightly.

Thanks for the comments folks! I know the video doesn't reveal many details so if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

And now, Retina Display goodness (click to embiggen!):

The art is SOOO WRONG it's right!

Very stylized and detailed neon bugs!

:D Ha! My original design notes just said "glowy vector art". In other words; Geometry Wars ripoff ;) But by the time I got around to actually doing the art the glowy-vector style was second only to doodles on the App Store, and I felt I needed something different (but still glowy). Took several iterations but I'm happy with the result.

Worth getting for the visuals alone. What worries me is that it's going to be one of those hard ass games like Spirit and Tilt To Live. Hopefully it's not.

    Two of my favs! :D

I'll be honest, the difficulty does ramp up rather quickly. Main influences for Silverfish were A7Xpg, Geometry Wars, and Pac Man, and my target audience lies squarely in that range. The gameplay is based on different "modes" however, so I'm not opposed to slipping in some easier/practice modes if people really want them.

Silverfish is progressing nicely - just audio and gameplay tweaks remain!

The alpha video was made before the particle system was fully fleshed out, so here's a peak at the new sparky-bouncy-particle explosions. I hope to have a new video soon as well...

Looks very nice. I can see this playing. Even better on the iPad big screen like for tilt to live HD. Are you planning an HD version soon?
