After a few days of playing We Rule, I feel like I've bumped up against the game's limitations. I don't care about the social aspects that much, don't like having no idea what buildings do, and most importantly don't like the fact that there's not much to actually do in the game. I used to be hardcore into Age of Empires and even Civilization, so I want to find something along those lines. And yes, I know there's a Civ game, but I find its interface to be rather poorly optimized for the iPhone. So... any other games in this genre I should try? (P.S. hi tA!)
The Settlers would be a good shout, and Sim City Deluxe is coming in the summer (can't wait for that!)
The Settlers, maybe? Can't say I've played the iPhone version, but it's one of my most played series on PC back in the day. EDIT: ah, bluewomble88 - great minds think alike.
Freeverse has a game called CastleCraft - MMOG - coming out at the start of April. And there's a combat MMOG coming from a new developer that we can't talk about yet that will blow your socks off. They're a spin out of a well known PC MMOG studio. Due 3rd April...
the settlers is pretty hard on iphone... you have to build so many different things in correct places in the little screen
im lookin aswell i got westward at the min... got plenty of rts games tho i just want one that you need to build a city ... hopefully thay make spore tribes and civilistaion
Civ. Revolution is on the iphone... haha where have you been... http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/civilization-revolution/id324563544?mt=8
I hate it when people are to lazy to even read the opening post. I thought Civ Rev's interface was fine, the game just felt as if it was lacking in depth. Here are some games you might like: Command & Conquer Rogue Planet (not that similar, but worth checking out) The Settlers Warfare Inc.
Try The Kings (and it's currently free!) And I like Civ Rev better here than on the DS, but yeah - it pales in comparison to Civ4. I would love a straight-up port/copy of Civ1 or Free Civ for my iPod Touch...
Battle for Wesnoth? Maybe not exactly the kind of thing you're talking about...but it has kingdoms in it. And it's amazing.
not that it matters but I was talking to the boomers guy. I know civ. was already mentioned in the first post.
Ah, I see. It might have helped to have quoted him. And I believe he was referring to Spore Civilization, one of the steps in the PC game of Spore.
Not sure when it's coming out but Anno Dawn of Discovery looks to be along those lines and looks really awesome.
