Looks like Gizmodo is calling for App submissions. Just thought I'd post it here in case anyone wanted to send them their app info. http://gizmodo.com/5664297/which-apps-do-you-want-us-to-review
They're called Gizmodo and they don't know which iPhone apps are popular. Does anyone else find this slightly ridiculous?
Hehe, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. They do know what Apps are popular...they pretty much review and list popular apps on their friday "Best Apps of the Week" post (sometimes there's a couple unknown or lesser known apps in there but it's mostly just the big names). In this article though...it seems like they're just flat out calling for anyone to throw app names/info at them. Guess they have some free time on their hands or who knows...I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth here. Just going to throw my App name at them and see what's what. Just thought I'd post the info here so everyone else can try their luck if they want to ;-)
I think they are asking for a world of hurt personally (to the degree of inboxes crashing all over the place) but honestly it is a good stunt on their part to get an already-popular big website some points for being down with "the trendy new app scene," and potentially expose some games which aren't otherwise getting any love. A lot of the big sites usually just cover all the same apps as one another, after awhile it gets redundant to look at them. I'll send over some codes but I won't expect to get a look from them, who knows though it is worth a shot! In this crazy market, anything can happen... as we have seen...
Hey, throw your App name in the comments section as well. Even if they don't review it...someone might see it in the comments there. Though it looks like the comments are blowing up also...they are definitely in for a world of hurt ;-)
haha. yeah I wouldn't expect it to be for at least a week, longer if they got hit with a decent amount of requests. anyway I emailed them when my game released (among many, many other hi-profile sites) and no response back then, so I don't expect much now. But worth a try
Here is a good game idea for a dev looking for fame and fortune: detective/noir game. See Hotel Dusk. No point and click either.
