I get that this is a tabletop game. But man, those dice falling onto the battlefield really breaks immersion.
Just bought it and only had time for the tutorial. So far so good on the tutorial. Have to go to work, but Will give more details as I play more.
I loved the dice role in Talisman, i guess i just dont like the colours. Sure I'll get used to them tho, game looks sweet.
The front page article mentions synchronous PvP. Does anyone know if the game supports asynchronous multiplayer?
How hard is it to pick up if you haven't played the board game version? Looks very cool but I have limited time to learn how to play right now. Also how long is a session/challenge/map time wise?
The voice acting in the intro almost made me immediately delete the app.... Looking forward to getting stuck in now (please have no more of that guy....) Edit: hmmm.... 1 tutorial later, I prefer Star Hammer (but appreciate that this is supposed to be a bit different) Some Annoyances are odd screen layouts in codex, can't rotate view with finger (only through 3 static angles via buttons), some slightly unintuitive throttle / steer UI. Does anyone know if campaign saves progress if you quit app during a battle? (tutorial didn't)
How many boardgames/wargame have we demanded to have dice roll visible but being turned down? I would not complain in this department.
Just as I thought. Found some video reviews and first impression is that the UI gets in the way of game play on such a small screen. After 1st impression: the more I watch the better it looks. I'm getting it. I found a bunch of PDFs, game rules and about the ships: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-aXA8fc5AQ8fmpVUEtsb1IxcDM5M2pBZjVGcFM5MTlWejVqVkt4VXZzX3E1YWQ0OER5Vnc&usp=sharing
I went the other way - more I played the more I found little things that annoyed me (mostly UI). It's fairly good and probably worth the price, but I would rather stick my time into Star Hammer (or the ever present backlog) Never mind, have fun all!
I got Battlefleet Gothic because I already have Star Hammer on my PC with a 1440p monitor and Star Hammer is one game I'd never want to play on a mobile device. It'd drive me homicidally insane. The UI is a lot more intricate than Battlefleet.
I'm finding this pretty entertaining on a 6s. No UI clutter that I am feeling, though I've never been bothered by complex games on small screens.
