Looks pretty cool. JoshW Well-Known Member Jun 15, 2010 253 0 0 #5 JoshW, Jul 3, 2015 This is a really great game - I got it last night. Excellent graphics and music and very challenging in that satisfying way all good puzzle games should be. Highly recommend this. mr_bez Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2012 2,053 3 38 #6 mr_bez, Jul 5, 2015 Bought and played through this in a few short sessions yesterday and today. It's shorter than I expected, with only 24 levels, but I'd rather have 24 levels which feel fresh than 50 that feel repetetive. The app description says more are coming soon for free, and it's hard to complain at 79p. I didn't think it was very obvious at first that you can only move the panel containing your character (perhaps more could be done graphically to indicate this) but once I'd figured that out the controls seemed OK. The developer has cited Nitrome as an influence and the comparison is apt. The graphical style is an obvious link, but so too is the frequency with which new ideas are introduced. They pop up regularly, are introduced neatly through gameplay and aren't overused for the sake of padding. y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #7 y2kmp3, Jul 5, 2015 Last edited: Jul 5, 2015 Just finished game. Agreed that, while the game featured only 24 levels, each level is well designed and extremely fun to play. The last few levels are truly very clever, far more than I expected for a small indie developer. As a whole, the game can certainly compete with the best of class as a puzzle game for more established developers. A few minor graphical glitches. The game is well suited to have a move counter to record the number of panel swaps and steps taken by the player character. Love to see if the developer has found an optimal solution for each level. Highly recommended. No IAP is a bonus. Well worth the price! Absolutely brilliant! bombocracker Member Jul 2, 2015 7 0 0 http://shiftergame.com/ #8 bombocracker, Jul 5, 2015 Thanks a lot for your review! Actually I had plans to add a move counter and I'm still thinking about adding it in the update along with the new levels. y2kmp3 Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,784 3 38 #9 y2kmp3, Jul 5, 2015 Last edited: Jul 5, 2015 That is fantastic news, bombocracker. Congrats on this game release! Any chance that you can pre-share the number of panel swaps used in the optimal solution for each level? Many levels can be solved in different ways, albeit with different efficiencies. It is difficult to tell, without some reference, how close or far I am to the solutions you intended. Unfortunately it's all ruined by the almost unresponsive controls. Moving the hero is frustrating because half the time he will not budge even after swipping several times and sometimes he even goes the opposite direction. Moving the tiles is equaly hard. A shame, but until this is solved, I can't score it any higher. mr_bez Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2012 2,053 3 38 #19 mr_bez, Jul 10, 2015 It's not swipe-based controls for moving your character. You just have to hold the screen in the direction you want to move. Took me a while to get to grips with it and I'd still prefer a V-stick, but it works OK once you realise how to use it. makedamage Active Member Apr 15, 2014 32 0 6 #20 makedamage, Jul 10, 2015 Last edited: Jul 10, 2015 Well I stand corrected. But it's still a bit weird. You have to press directly above the hero for him to go up. if you press above him but to the right, he will go right, which makes it a little awkward. It's not very intuitive. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Do you already have an account?
