Big Fish also offer a number of more traditional-style adventures, ones that aren't actually "hidden object" games at all but have a similar visual style (Nightmare Adventures: The Witch's Prison, for example). The app store descriptions often don't do much to help figure out which type is which, admittedly. For the iPad, the Midnight Mysteries games from Mumbojumbo are also worth picking up. They're still a mixture of hidden object and more traditional adventure gaming, but the production values and atmosphere are generally much better than most Big Fish offerings (and they're currently on sale for $1 each).
Definitely look into The Walking Dead telltale game. Even if you don't like the comic or shows its great.
I would humbly recommend my new iPad adventure game, Tipping Point. It was just released yesterday and is off to a great start at #23 in the iPad Adventure Game category.
