That's why I did it - that and Xmas, and the Great Aussie App sale... go check some on my mates games too... http://www.aussieappsale.com/ I wonder how I would go about marketing the game other than making it free? Make sure you guys review and rate it please - the ratings help bring it up the charts. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,493 2 36 Houston, TX #6 undeadcow, Dec 5, 2011 Good luck on the free event, as an early purchaser I got a lot of enjoyment out of Turbo Flick. I imagine marketing iOS apps is grueling. Adding and advertising by word of mouth additional content is good. People respond to promising gameplay videos. A lite/trail version might help. Connecting with a larger freebie event like you have seems wise. Some developers have high score contests for iTunes gift cards but that always seemed sleazy to me. At least one developer liberally gives away promo codes at each update which keeps them mentioned but might not be financially rewarding. Psychopsam Well-Known Member Jul 27, 2009 90 0 0 #13 Psychopsam, Jun 20, 2013 **** Above all while it's free please review and rate it!!!! That gives it more clout in the market. Thanks Mr Biggles and Undeadcow. Remember when it launched though? Same weekend as Angry Birds. I see your point about the graphics and I was thinking of making the cyber graphics more Mass Effect / Portal space style ie smooth bold parts - low frequency, sci fi. Yep grab it free folks. The reason it's free is that it's entered into the West Australia Screen Awards under the Games (new) category. So I wanted everyone to try it without umming and ahhing about price. I'm working on a free version as well as an update, so it's a timely reminder. Just check downloads for the 18th and I got 80!!!! Great! Andy H. CygnetSeven Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2010 7,585 30 48 #15 CygnetSeven, Jun 20, 2013 I like the game and the concept, my only problem is that annoying popup that tells you how to play the game. After the first level or two, is it really necessary to see the same screen, only to have to brush it aside in front of every level? Sorry but it kills the game for me. I realize I'm not that deep into the game so I'm just curious, does it ever go away? Psychopsam Well-Known Member Jul 27, 2009 90 0 0 #16 Psychopsam, Jul 7, 2013 FREE and will fix stuff soon Thanks I've taken that onboard and it is fixed in the update - should be updated around August. The help is annoying - yes - and I redesigned it so that once you've played that style of flick it hides. Then to recall the help you tap an icon on the side instead. By the way - it's FREE again for a while. Please enjoy. Thanks for the suggestion. bhornburg Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2009 120 0 16 #19 bhornburg, Jul 7, 2013 Great game! Thanks so much for this. A couple of suggestions. 1) the ball spawns out in front of the player...just blinks in out in space, it feels a little disconnected and unpolished. Maybe you could add an indicator where the ball will launch from? 2) looove the tron look of the game, but why is the projectile this chome, pinball looking thing? Seems our of place. Why not make the ball looks like the glowy wireframe style of the rest if the game? Great game, just some creative criticism...regardless thank you again for the freebie! Wrote a review on iTunes.
