Hey Toucharcade people! Knife Media is pleased to announce it's next game for iOS, Mac OS X and Windows 8 - Red. Red is colorful survival shooter influenced by hits like Smash TV, i.e. tons of enemies and a lot of splats on the floor We are focusing on a good character and lots of unlockables for the release - the idea is to make it as fun to play as possible, coupled with long term playability. Feel free to ask questions about the game! We are proud of Red, seeing as we have come all this way since our first commercial game, a tiny christmas iOS app, all the way back in 2009! Some artwork: Main character Rick Steele (we have a comic book style opening for levels..!) Enemy art And a screenshot from the desktop version (we will be trying our best to keep the mobile versions pretty too ) We are hoping for release in the next few weeks - there are quite a few platform releases required of a dev these days, but we feel confident we can hit iOS hard... we developed Red in Unity, so thanks to a great set of tools we can reach all sorts of people. Will be updating with more content soon!!!
Thanks for the comments guys To answer: Controls will be joysticks that appear wherever you place your finger - this way you aren't forced to bend your thumbs in a certain way, but rather what is most comfortable. Pricing wise - still deciding. It will be attractive though, so don't worry Hardware wise we want this to run on any computer with a graphics card in the last 5 years, so it won't be too heavy (but there are options to make it look prettier, as you can see in the screenshot ) @Cobalt Plasma there are indeed... look closely Here is one of the perks included in the game. It's a deployable turret that drops from the sky to provide fire support:
We have jazz backing music... it makes the mass killings seem quite sublime EDIT: forgot to add, you can follow KM on Facebook and Twitter: facebook.com/knifemedia twitter.com/knifemedia
Another new ability - the bio-shield. It works kinda like the bubble shield in Halo, except your bullets go out and the enemy can't get in. We just released on Windows Phone 8, now our development targets are Mac App Store and iOS... so soon EDIT: we will be answering more questions and updating more frequently now, we had a hectic month of work so expect more content!
