CygnetSeven Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2010 7,585 30 48 #7 CygnetSeven, Jun 22, 2012 To be honest I never bought this because I was satisfied with Death Rally. I'll happily spend the dollar though if anyone can convince me that it is as good. I don't like button controls though. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #8 awp69, Jun 22, 2012 Oh damn +1 Really debating on this one. Not so much on the price, but I've got RR1 and Mini Motor Racing. And I've heard some say they like RR1 better. But while most seem to like the RR series better, I actually have gotten a lot more enjoyment with MMR. For some reason, I just like the way the cars handle in MRR and the seemingly rougher gameplay. I also had Death Rally and enjoyed it, but again, even without the weapons, the AI seems more fun and aggressive in MMR. If only I could get a weapons based version of MMR, I'd be in heaven. Probably will have to pick this up for a buck though. rawg Well-Known Member Jun 6, 2012 62 0 0 #9 rawg, Jun 22, 2012 Hard to say, I guess if you never played this type of game it'll be fun and worth a $1.... For me I played so many of these games in the past and bought it for a trip. I found it tediously repeating/repetitious racing with little depth. Overall ending was "the end" plus nowaday we could use some HD graphics etc. tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,067 44 48 #10 tops2, Jun 22, 2012 Lol..I'm wondering the same. The only reason I stopped playing MRR is on my 4th gen ipod touch the game seems to chug sometimes and the menu loading (especially adding the winnings to your total) is so slow.. That and I seem to stop progressing at from time to time, and as soon as I upgrade, I'm totally in 1st place again which makes it feel like I'm buying my way to winning. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #11 awp69, Jun 22, 2012 Yeah, this is the only problem I have with MMR. The menus are pretty slow. Also found that it's a bit easy until you get about 2/3 through the original cups (granted I kept upgrading the original car and am fully maxed). Now it's getting tougher. Probably need to start upgrading a different car. Still love the handling and the way there's constant crashing and pileups. Just found it more fun than RR1. Sorry for going off-topic in the MMR comparisons. I still plan on giving this one a shot. crex Doctor of Game of the Week-ology Oct 18, 2010 7,679 10 0 Everywhere and Nowhere #12 crex, Jun 22, 2012 Grabbed it since I loved the first game. Hopefully this one will be even better. Gunlock Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2010 472 0 16 #13 Gunlock, Jun 22, 2012 I bought the game when it was on sale a couple of months ago. After finishing all arcade challenges and career mode I was quite disappointed with the game. Great graphics, enjoyable physics (sliding on gravel is really fun), imprecise controls (they fixed it with the last update, finally), mediocre audio (especially engine sounds), repetitive music, good multiplayer. The biggest problem was the challenges and career mode just a bunch of random races, totally not related to each other. Spoiler And after finishing the game I was expecting some kind of cool hidden stuff unlocked, or a cut scene at least. But no, the end, there you go So to sum up quite overrated game if you ask me, without a soul if you know what I mean. For a buck it is totally worth grabbing, but dont expect anything special. I like rr better than death rally. spidey Well-Known Member Jun 24, 2010 964 2 0 India #15 spidey, Jun 23, 2012 Wow, I really didn't know this game was NOT popular. I for one, really did love the game. Honestly, for most parts, this game is more of reckless racing 1 (RR1), with larger variety of cars, with an upgrade mecchanic, and fantastic visuals thrown in. A big difference in gameplay is that, unlike in RR1, where racing was largely ONLY twitching around bends (which was fun, really), this game has a lot of high speed straights thrown in as well. You actually have to control your turning around the bend otherwise you will end up going really wide and probably not win the race. As far as top down racers go, this is an awesome game. Highly recommended. Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #16 Connector, Jun 23, 2012 Just downloaded, this game is fun! I like it alot. Plays well on my iphone 4, but plays even better on my new ipad. Highly recommended, a must buy for sure! neo_ Well-Known Member Jun 21, 2012 65 0 0 #17 neo_, Jun 23, 2012 I loved RR1, but Reckless Getaway was quite a letdown and I've seen the reviews and gameplay of RR2. Not gonna buy inspite of the sale. Rather keep playing Mini Motor now. Peewhy Well-Known Member Mar 27, 2012 551 0 0 #18 Peewhy, Jun 24, 2012 fun game but price is too high lancheta Well-Known Member May 20, 2012 149 0 0 #19 lancheta, Jun 26, 2012 Game is just as fun as the original if not better. Cars can be customized and there is a lot more track variation in career mode. There is a new chase camera option that follows the car from the back rather than from a fixed position on the track (I would get disoriented sometimes when the track got really hectic). With rally racing incorporated, you have to really consider which cars to use as the street cars handle quite differently vs the rally cars. Again a really fun game and worth the buck captainVertigo New Member Jun 26, 2012 2 0 0 #20 captainVertigo, Jun 26, 2012 This game is brilliant. I have played it plenty of times this week.
