Okay, so I didn't charge my iPod touch for an extremely long time to the point of it hitting absolutely no power, so I got that lightning icon, telling me I needed to plug it in for it to boot up. But when I connected it to charge, it shows the Apple logo for a while, then shuts off again, and then shows the low battery logo again, then back to the Apple logo. Thanks for the help. And it's been plugged in for three hours now, so no, I don't need to wait a bit longer.
unplug your ipod from the cord, keep the cord in the computer. Then while pressing the home button plug your ipod back in, keep holding the home button till something happens ( I forgot what). then restore.
I know how to get out of DFU mode with that one jailbreaking program. Will that save me from restoring in this situation?
I've had this before back when jailbreaking was a bit difficult... Your last resort is to restore your ipod I don't think so
This is happened previously to me. Before you restore, try hooking your iPod to an outlet in a wall and charging it from there. If that fails, I'm afraid to say you have to restore.
i would just restore it, it will def fix the problem and its better than doing something that could mess up your device even more
God dammit looks like I'll have to reorganize all those folders again. Wow, I even found an official page about it on Apple's website. So they're aware of this problem and they don't fix it?
I doubt it. BUT "iTunes has detected an iPhone/iPod Touch in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes".
I'm going to try everything possible to prevent restoring again. No way am I going to put all those folders back on. Gah. Apple's system is beyond retarded.
It IS Apple's fault that the backups freeze while in progress 99% of the time. Is anyone here familiar with quickpwn? That's what I used to fix getting out of DFU mode last time without any problems.
Any chance you could list the programs that can get you out of DFU mode? I'm not too familiar with jailbreaking stuff since I never jailbroke my iPod.
Backups freeze for you? Never happened to me. I've had them go inordinately slow, but if you let your device sit by the computer for 5 hours or so you should be good to go. Of course, what's the big deal about restoring? You can re-download all the same Apps+Songs for free. Sure, you might have to re-organizesome folders, but it is a better alternative than having your iPod stuck in a low battery cycle forever
I've had my backups be really slow, although I don't think they have eve frozen except for that one incident when I updated to iOS 4
