So, I dont think that they took away from the original game. I dont use hints either, I dont recall needing them. At some point, like Towers of Hanoi, these puzzles become more and more difficult just due to the numbers, not really changing the concepts, so at that point, I quit playing. I think you would enjoy this one from past recollections of other puzzles you have enjoyed in your postings.
