Love his graphics, its great recognising some old classic british 80's computer game characters like Miner Willy etc.
I love Miner Willy (more so JSW though) and countless other Speccy/CPC games, but they were all played at native res, and they still are on my PC emulator and with Spectaculator on iOS. This is just a load of blurry sprites. If he stuck with the crisp pixels that make up classic games from the 80s I'd be fine with it.
Still no word on this one? I'm assuming (based on no real information whatsoever) it was rejected on the first pass, possibly because of the Level Editor stuff. Mr. Minter mentioned on his blog that Apple's pretty particular about that kind of thing, so maybe that's it. I want to play this game, Apple. You're on notice.
He also mentioned on Twitter that he wanted to post some banners/site skins to help market better when it comes out, so there's a chance the game is already approved and he is waiting to release it when he has finalized his marketing strategy.
It would be highly ironic of Apple (& yet no less surprising) if they insisted that Mr. Minter go back and change aspects of his level editor, which he had speculated might be a problem in approval. With the powers that be letting slip a certain baby naming app through the approval process this week, my patience is worn thin with the arbitrariness of their methods and reasoning. I want me some psychedelic billy goat platforming!!! Now!!! Please!?
