I don't see the point. There is a lounge, and TWO games sections.

I'm not sure "app suggestion" threads are even spam. Although, considering the OP responded to his own thread 4 times in a row (and had submitted 5 out of the 6 posts prior to mine), perhaps his definition of "spam" is unclear.

Let me just say that I really enjoy coming to these forums. I like to read about games. I like to read other people's opinions, and I like discussing games in general. That's what this place is for, yes?

In my opinion, a "should I buy X or Y?" thread falls into the category of discussing games. We may roll our eyes at the incessant repeats or the comparison of unrelated titles, but here's the thing: If no one is interested in discussing these topics, the threads should quickly fade away; If the thread gets responses, then hey, people want to have the discussion. Let them.

When these topics invariably pop up, I find it more "spammy" that half the replies are unrelated "EYE ROLL!!! SEARCH, N00B!" or "Hot dog or banana? LOLZ" type comments. These responses don't add anything to the discussion, but guess what, they keep the threads on top.
