They all take place in the same world, but can be played in any order, and the stories aren't really linked. My favorite, perhaps because it was the first one I bought, is Assasin in Orlandes. TRB4 Well-Known Member Jan 30, 2013 990 0 16 #8 TRB4, Apr 23, 2013 Hmm, they all sound good, but I don't think I can justify spending close to $25 dollars to buy them all. Perhaps I will wait for another $0.99 sale gquiller Well-Known Member Nov 15, 2011 330 3 18 #9 gquiller, Apr 23, 2013 Will Fighting Fantasy: House of Hell go on sale later tonight? I was looking at the IAP price and it is still showing up as $3.99. It's the only one from the first 8 I don't own. And if you're looking to get into the series and don't want to buy them all. I'd recommend GA 1, 3, and 4. Gilgilad Well-Known Member May 15, 2013 159 0 16 #15 Gilgilad, Jun 21, 2013 I played the first Assassin in Orlandes, and it was very good. I paid full price which I think was either $5 or $6. While fun and very well done, I don't think it is worth that much to me since I am not the type to replay it over and over trying to do every possible route so I basically finish the game in one evening of gameplay. I am not really a cheapskate, I usually buy quality premium games like X-Com, Baldur's Gate, Chaos Rings, & FFT, but I am on the fence actually if to buy another of these gamebooks for even the $3 sale, I think I might just wait for the $.99 sale because that is about what it is worth to me for each book for what I get out of them. After getting Blood of the Zombie, Forest of Doom and Gamebooks 1 & 10 on Black Friday weekend I was waiting for a broader sale. Nabbed Infinite Universe, Starship Traveller, House of Hell, and Trial of the Clone. I'm wondering about whether I should get F.E.A.R. or Uruzime as well. Too bad that Warhammer book doesn't get at least a 50% off. jase23 Well-Known Member Jul 30, 2009 207 0 16 #18 jase23, Dec 17, 2015 These are super games. If anyone out there has the slightest interest in RPGs, great stories and artwork, dice-based combat and a narrative with choices and branching storylines, they would be crazy not to try it out for $1.99.
