Was going to buy this on day one, but then there were tons of negative comments on the controls. Guess there was an update to add more controls, but why developers don't add a lot of flexibility with controls baffles me with so many different ios devices and ways to play them, kinda what the other brothers is going through too now. Was thinking there would be a sale soon, but heck for free, sounds great. Was really wondering how this game would play on hdmi tv cause Reckless Racing 2 and Tabletop racing (with new view) play so well on a bigscreen, so this is great. Thanks for letting us know. Strange that they made this free when they just released - this week - Cracking Sands Racing, which is essentially a lite version of the game. It was one of the most atrocious racing experiences on ios...EVER. Coldar Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2008 2,458 5 38 Upstate NY/USA #12 Coldar, Apr 12, 2013 Ah, ok. That explains why I'm looking at two free game icons from Polarbit at the moment with almost the same name. Just me, or.... ?? awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #16 awp69, Apr 12, 2013 The controls were a major improvement over the original which was almost unplayable. I enjoy the game now but still think the controls could be a little better. One thing I still don't like is using the same "energy" for boosts and weapons. I feel like to win a race, I need to be boosting whenever I can. That kind of takes out the combat part of the game, which is what I'd like to be doing more of. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #17 syntheticvoid, Apr 12, 2013 Yeah... I didn't mean that... Just confused about the game having "a lot going for it" even though "with the control changes I still thought it was awful" - just doesn't click in my head as making any sort of sense. And I also found the controls ok to play, never tried the game before the update but it's a pretty decent game. awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #20 awp69, Apr 13, 2013 Honestly, I think it was kind of stupid of them to name the lite version Cracking Sands Racing. That by no means implies a lite version....even "Free" would have been better. Only thing you can tell is by reading the description. And, of course, when you play the free version, there's no upgrades, etc. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
