they? unity is a game engine. Hence "powered by"
unity doesn't make the game. I want to laugh at you right now, but I don't know how to use my facial muscles.

I've been very interested in Unity lately. It's a beautiful engine if you check the site. But I don't know if I should get it because:

    1. It's too expensive for me right now.
    2. If I made any games with it, they would probably suck, and the TA/appstore members would all yell and carry on and call me a scammer. They just probably wouldn't like them.
    3. I'm going to work with 3D design someday, so I might get that or a better program in my career or through a college course pack.

The engine for over a grand, and less than half of a grand for the iPhone publisher.

Most Unity games suck, IMHO. Large file size with extra crap not needed by games. Lots of lag (cs.one, zombieville, etc). I'm sure people will blame the developer or certain devices, but I blame Unity. So there, tell me how I'm wrong and defend preciously what is not yours. :D

Three Unity games from the top of my head (before I fall asleep)

    circuit_strike.one
    Downhill Bowling
    Crazy Snowboard
    Zombieville
Mower (just saw this, a strange one)

There is a thread on their forum listing many many Unity iPhone titles.

It's a great engine (yes I use it) but it has a bit of a learning curve....of course.

You can try it free for a month, and the "indie" version is just a few hundred bucks.

circuit_strike.one doesn't lag. It has adjustable graphics settings.

Well, if you want to use unity to make pc or mac games only, it's $200 or so. Add on $400 for the iphone kit. The only time you pay more then $1,000 is when you buy the pro package which allows you to remove the "powered by unity" logo on bootup among other smaller things which only matter if your game sells amazingly well, imo.

Don;t you need a sound understanding in Object C or Java....or something like that?

It's not like map design in UT or Hammer....as i understand it?

If I wrong, please elaborate, as may have a crack at it. Is it real hard to pick up?
