Super Jetpack Penguin

Hi All!

Super Jetpack Penguin (SJP) will be comming to iOS soon and we wanted to let you guys know about it first The game will have a 2D cartoony art style, and is the first game with our new artist so he's keen for feedback. In SJP you play the penguin who you can equip with different jetpacks, items and power ups to fly your way through a series of levels collecting fish. Fish give you coins to buy more items and power ups from the ingame store.

I hope to get some screen shots soon and a video done shortly after that and will post those here. Please note that the game is still in development so anything shown/discussed could and is likely to change.

If there is enough of an interest we might run a beta test session, if this is of interest please get in contact with us (via PM) and include; your name, device, device ios version, device id, beta testing experience; and we will get back to you asap. We think that we would need at least 15-20 people minimum to be able to do this with some reasonable results.

ummm sounds a lot like Jetpack Joyride. Sorry to jump the gun early but is there not any better ideas?

@triggywiggy - yes and no, we started development on this game about 6months ago which was a while before jetpack joyride was out or we even heard about it. We had progressed to a point with our development of super jetpack penguin where we really had to just continue with it once jetpack joyride was released, mainly as we were only a few weeks from finishing the game. We have looked at jetpack joyride quite a lot and have incorporated new features into super jetpack penguin to bring it more inline with what we think users will expect.

It is and does have a very different feel to super jetpack penguin than jetpack joyride. Which hopefully you'll be able to see once we have finished putting the new video together.

We tend to develop games that we think are fun and what we ourselves would play.

Graphics look pretty good based on the screenshot. Nice art-style. Is this a one-finger game or is it more involved?

Actually looks more like Mighty Fin or Whale Trail to me. I was hooked by the name immediately and very much look forward to some video.

Some more blurb about the game;
No endless modes in sight, only beautiful refined handcrafted levels. Each designed level contains three objectives which add a unique technical challenge to each play through. Three gorgeous worlds will take the player form a tropical climate to the icy Arctic and ending with bubbling volcanoes. Each world has their own unique enemies to survive, on the way to becoming the fish eating champion.

Customize your Penguin by choosing from a variety of different jetpacks, which can be unlocked in the in-game store, using in-game money.

Just because it is a Freemium game does not mean that we are going to shove any full screen adverts in your face. All of this awesome gameplay will be coming to an iOS device near you in the new year (2012).

We just wanted to say a big thank you to all those of you that have tested our game over the past few weeks (you know who you are!), you have helped find bugs and make some serious tweaks to the game, one of these is currently underway this week in the form of reworking the levels.

We have decided to put the release of the game back a little bit to make these tweaks and ensure the game what it needs to be.

Hi Silvestris,

We don't actually have a 2G iPod to test with, but it doesn't work on 3G iPhone only 3GS and above, so we are only recommending the latest iPod touch to be released.

If you would like to test a very early version without any optimization send me a PM and I'll hook you up.
