Default Potential: Physics-based Puzzle Game

Hey, all – A friend and I recently released an iPhone game called Potential. It's a puzzle game where you navigate through mazes of charges and other E&M-based obstacles. We've gotten some good feedback and are in the process of rolling out a couple of updates. Let us know what you think, and we'll try and include your suggestions. The quickest way to get to the game is through this here link, but you can also search the App Store for "Potential" and find it just fine.

Oh, and though the game is regularly only 99¢, I'll include 35 (!!) promo codes in this post so you can game to your heart's content.

Please, if you use a promo code, do these two things:
1. Post exactly which code you're using, so that the next person doesn't have to test that one.
2. Tell your friends! We're handing out free games, and all we ask in return is a little word-of-mouth.

Thanks for taking a look, and enjoy Potential!

Used JYMMAAE3AEMK

Cool little physics puzzle game. Only a few levels in but I can tell this is the sort of game I'll play constantly until I'm finished.

Pretty cool little game. If only the creators used cute furry animals, or animate fruit, instead of "+" and "-" signs, it might even sell a few copies.

One thing: I've no idea why completing a level "rewards" you with a jarring buzz of your iPhone, but the option at least, to disable this "feature" is sorely needed.

Hi Gabrien.

I'm the other game creator (friend of Nerylix). I just wanted to respond to your comments.

First, about the vibration: good call, thanks. You can turn it off for now by disabling sound effects, but that's not at all obvious and not a good way to handle things. We just submitted an update that fixes a couple bugs, and we included in that a designated option for vibration. Thanks! The update should be out later this week or early next.

As for replacing charges with furry animals that little kids could connect to: that concept is something that we considered, but as developers we're proud of the "purity" of the puzzle. For now, this means that the game may not be accessible to everyone, but hopefully the puzzle is intriguing enough that people can get past the fact that there are in fact no angry birds in our game. We may end up adding some sort of story line if we can make it fit, though. And hey, maybe people will learn a little bit about how charges interact!

Again, thanks for your feedback.

It probably wasn't all that clear, but I was being sarcastic. It's just the fact is, while you've undoubtedly got some solid gameplay here, the game's going to be a very hard sell due to its visuals. Still, at least you've got some discussion going here already, which is more than what normally dumping 50 promo codes onto a public web page will achieve, and most importantly you have something to sell. (Though come to think of it, I'm not sure how much that last bit matters in a commercial sense.) In any case, best of luck.

Sarcasm or not, in some sense you're right.

When we put the game out in a public forum, it's really wonderful when people respond well and wish us luck. Thanks! And hey, if you know someone that might be interested in this game, pass the word :-)
