I smirked. I didn't think any games bothered with lites anymore.

Well, played for a while... first impressions: this game is hard...
Controls are simple: half the screen to go left and the other half to go right and you have to drive along other cars (you can hit them, will lower your speed) and obstacles... The generating landscape on both sides is something impressive, but then again if you go too fast or too slow, you will fall of the tracks... So while you navigate though the road, you will most likely crash and reduce your speed so for our sake there are red arrows that increase your speed... Good luck with that... Game has a lot of things to buy and unlock, like new cars, colors, upgrades, etc etc... and IAP, the usual, Chillingo nowadays... Not sure what to think of this yet... Update: As you progress, you unlock tons of different landscapes through predefined paths, that will make for some replayability trying to see every landscape. Its amazing, all so far are great... Also, the game has the right amount of balance between the speed arrows and collisions... You have to learn... made 3,500 in my last game, and collected 96 coins... some items in the shop costs up to 10,000 and more. A new car costs 8000, a different color 10000. Cant make an opinion about the necessity of IAP here yet... There seem to be a lot of missions to complete Im liking this endless runner more and more each time I play Last edited by TheFrost; 11-20-2012 at 07:27 PM.. |

Oh boy, I am a sucker for games with a clean (minimalist?) art style. Definitely considering this game.

This is "ok." One of those cases where the game just isn't as much fun as you sense it could be, but it is hard to pin-point why. Perhaps because this doesn't feel in any way like you are actually driving? Might as well be little cubes on the road and the feel would be the same. Some meaty engine sounds, skids, swerving, might have given it a bit more oomph. As it is, it's passable, but just feels a bit...well, "lame" really. Nice idea on paper that feels like it didn't receive the right approach to give it a chance to shine.

I'm not loving this one. It feels somewhat unfair that doing well should punish you by putting you so close to the top of the road that you need super-human reflexes to respond to what's being built mere inches from the front of your car. At one point I actually managed to pick up so much speed that I almost seemed to fall off the top of the road and then hit an obstacle because it came into existence around my vehicle. It makes for rapid fluxuations in difficulty that don't feel entirely natural.
Also the placement of speed up arrows could do with some tweaking. I've only played a few games and already I've seen situations where I'm performing perfectly, avoiding all obstacles but end up falling off the back of the road and failing because there either weren't any red arrows or they were placed -inside- pieces of scenery. This shouldn't happen. |
