I played an early build of The Woods and found it to be a very polished and creepy games. The graphics (for an iOS game) are crisp and immersive creating an immersive experience. You move around a forest, cabin, and surrounding environments in the first person perspective. In the build I played you look around by placing one finger on the screen and dragging or can move by placing two fingers on the screen. You can drag your fingers while moving to steer and look around. To access the menu tap with 3 fingers. The only problem I encountered was that the end of the playable map area is not clearly marked so when you reach it your character just won't move further towards the seemingly open forest. Definitely worth checking out for $0.99.

Described as "Alan Wake meets Slenderman"? Shut up and take my money, 3 Cubes.
The trailer looks fantastic...less than 4 hours to go!

So this is largely a Slenderman-esque "find the X pages located around the playfield" type affair with a flashlight mechanic added, or is there more to it gameplay-wise?

There are chapters and missions with a sense of progression (i.e. find the cabin, see the book, look for x...) but a lot of the game revolves around finding items in the environment. Also some implied plot with, for example, arcane symbols on the wall of the cabin.
