I love this board game so much... But I'm not a fan of mobile versions. It's just not it.

You make it sound like there's heaps of mobile version of this.
What other mobile versions of stone age or there?
Have you played this one yet?
Just interested to know, that's all.

Think I'll grab this one.

Wondering if anyone know what this gameplay is like? Looks quite a lot like Caylus in terms of mechanics from those screenshots. Is that true?

I found Caylus a bit too trade-focussed that it made my brain hurt. Either way might give this a punt.

The best description I have seen is its "Caylus lite." It's still resource management and worker placement centered, but there aren't as many complex decisions as Caylus.

If you want a more detailed description, check out the BGG page on Stone Age and listen to Ryan Sturm's How to Play podcast on iTunes.

It's the gateway game for the worker placement mechanism, which is what Caylus started. Much simpler to understand than Caylus...I routinely play Stone Age with my 10 and 7 year old kids and they have no issue grasping it.

The app is a very good port of the board game, too.

And like Caylus, stripping out the board game aesthetic kills any interest I once had.
