I used to have a cat. Waking her always meant to be subject to bruises or other sorts of beating. To make it short: waking her was closely related to pain. Nonetheless, this game looks quite fun!

Pretty sure there's no holographic cat with rapier claws in this game...but play with caution!

60 puzzles for a buck. if the mechanics are good, then this'll stick on the ipad long.

To don`t go totally offtopic: Yes the physics and gravity puzzles are awesome and I can assure you that the Game is, as usual if it comes to Chillingo, totally sold below it`s value. |

This game is just adorable all-around. I look forward to the loading screens to see the kitty all happy and such!
I only have a couple complaints. One is a real nitpick... nitpick of the century, actually: I wish the game were titled Wake the Kitty instead. Wake the Cat sounds too serious. Wake the Kitty is playful enough that people know what to expect! ![]() Anyways, now that I got that ridiculous nitpick out of the way, I have only one actual complaint: in terms of objects that you can interact with, you can only touch them to stop them. I wish you could move them with your finger, instead of having to wait for them to move on their own. Example: Blue trains move on their own. You tap them to stop them at a desired point. But past this, you can't control them completely. I wish you could slide your finger on the train to move it on your own, rather than waiting for it to get to that certain location and tapping it as such. Honestly, another nitpick. But it was kind of slightly, very slightly, a tad bit, tiny, minuscule, annoying. Very slight. ![]() Well other than that, I am just loving this game. The music is charming and cute, the gameplay is very fun (reminds me of that steampunk-inspired iPhone game that came out a while ago... I can't remember the name, though. It was by a company called S____ (don't remember the full name) Industries). The kitty is easy to fall in love with, and it's always satisfying to see it wake up so happy to play with the yarn, in the same way as it is satisfying to see Om Nom receive his candy in Cut the Rope. Something I don't quite understand fully is the three-star system. If it's what I'm thinking, I am very happy with it. What I'm thinking is that it's based on how many balls of yarn you use to reach the goal. I notice that whenever I get it with one ball, I get three stars; but when I get the goal with two balls, the three-star rating is knocked down ever-so-slightly. If it is based on the amount of yarn balls you use, rather than time, I am quite okay with that system. I highly recommend this game. Though I am more than a little biased, considering the subject matter has to deal with waking up a sleeping kitten (could you think of a more adorable scenario, I mean seriously...), I still recommend this game very highly. It's $1, and looks like it will last at least a little while, with hopes for future DLC too. |
