Finally got around to giving this some quality time. I love it! It definitely has the classic Punch Out feel. The normal graphics are nice and crisp. The retro mode (which I didn't even realize was there at first) was a pleasant surprise. I have also played Super KO Boxing 2 in the past and that game doesn't even compare. I always like when smaller devs come out ahead
. Just a couple of suggestions. Unless I missed it, I didn't see the game let the player know how to dodge. Took me a couple of matches to figure it out. I don't think adding buttons to the screen would be good as that would crowd things too much but maybe a quick tip on a loading screen would be sufficient. Also, it might be nice to have a small timer on screen to show how long is left in the round. So far none of my matches have left the first round (about halfway through the second circuit) but it might build up some tension if your opponent is one shot away from being KO'd and there is only a few seconds left on the clock. Thanks again for the promo code. You guys are definitely on my radar now. |

About retro mode, a funny thing in the Italian AppStore - a player complained about the new graphics, saying he liked the older appearance better. I hope I didn't make the retro mode option too hard to find.
We've recently submitted a lite version of Pocket Boxing Legends - waiting for approval. It's got some improvements to the 'gym' mode - specifically, the touch targets are exactly highlighted to make it obvious where to tap to trigger each move. I've also made it more obvious via the splash screen that you can rotate the device and play from any orientation. In my opinion, on an iPhone, landscape works best, while on iPad, portrait is better. We're working on a bunch of other unrelated games, but will definitely be returning to Pocket Boxing Legends early in the new year to officially incorporate multiplayer support. Quote:
