Chillingo is king of releasing iPad HD updates and utilizing those to build a future retina update for the iPhone 4 or iPod touch. They are developed along side each other if anything. If you develop the HD sprites initially (iPad HD version) then it will port over easily to the retina display easily. IM SICK OF THIS DOUBLE DIPPING FROM DEVELOPERS. ONE DAY LATER "NEW HD IMAGES". There is no excuse for newer applications. It was already there. How pathetic. Universal was an easy option that Chillingo decided to bank off of. Stingy, developers who take advantage of their consumers....

I was burnt once when i bought Angry Birds HD for 5 times the price of an iPhone version, expecting exclusive content or something like that. But this version is clearly not primary for developers, since much cheaper iPhone version gets frequent updates and support. Until developers start making universal apps i'm going to buy only iPhone versions. Most of apps looks good on iPad in 2x, so screw them.

Actually I'm going to jump in here as well after buying the iPhone version. Why do devs think their market are going to be happy to pay twice?? The benefit of iOS is that dev's can get games running on both platforms as universal so Dev's please stop being greedy and have some consideration for the people actually wanting to buy your game. I'm putting my foot down from now on. If the dev decides not to make it universal I'm not paying. Excepting an iPad version which has been upgraded with significant and specific extra 'content' for the iPad, or if they offer simultaneous release so as to give customers choice instead of knowingly pulling a fast one. Apple could have guidelines on this area if they gave a damn.

Enough of price discussion here. If you want to bitch more about how these greedy devs are stealing your money (99cents. For an awesome with perfect score from all reviewers. Seriously. Seriously?), please create a new thread in General Games discussion section. There's no point in polluting all the iPad threads whenever something gets a new HD version instead of going universal.

For those of you who decide to ignore this post of mine and continue to post about why/why not this should have been an universal app, please dont complain when your posts gets deleted. Just create a new threads. Its really easy. Here, just click this. Cant make it anymore easier than that.

I own the iphone version and it is a super polished game with a ton of content. Looking forward to seeing how the iPad version looks.
