Looks like it. I started up some music, fired up the game, and my music kept playing. I enabled game sounds, and my music continued to play, and I could still hear the sounds effects (not sure if the jazz music was still playing, I couldn't hear it over my music).

Sure! Simply launch the game when playing your own iTunes music, and the game will disable its original soundtrack!
