this may be a stupid question but where to you get the links for the apps?
you know if your reading a thread and someone says check this out and they give you the link which takes you to the app store? |

Redgaz,
Go to the App Store listing for the app and right-click on the icon. It will let you copy the URL. |

It's not a stupid question at all. Right-clicking the icon isn't intuitive in the slightest. There should be a copy link menu item, but much better still would be to take the iTS out of iTunes and make it a web browser based store. I know some, perhaps many, would balk at the idea, but to me it is a great idea. It would work exactly like you are use to a browser working and you could do the things you are use to doing in a real web browser, such as copying the link out of the address bar, openning an apps listing in a separate tab, make bookmarks to apps of interest, etc. It would also result in less bloat in iTunes, and perhaps then a faster application. Oh well - I don't think it will ever happen.
