Thanks for the quick reply, LordGek and sizzlakalonji!
![]() One more quick question... I haven't upgraded to iOS 5.0 yet. Does the online multiplayer work with 4.x? Thanks! |

I have the iPhone version of Keltis. Is there currently a way to play that online through GameCenter? If so, I can't figure out how to start a game.

I don't think there has ever been the option to play the iPhone version online. The game itself ist quite good and has a terrific AI, one of the best I've seen in Knizia apps. Quite on the contrary Keltis Oracle is the better real world board game, really one of Reiner's best, but the respective app severely lacks a good computer opponent, so if you're looking for satisfying solo play you have to buy the original Keltis here (especially the expansion 'New Challenges').
The only thing that stops me from buying the iPad version is that I would have to pay for solitaire and expansion IAPs AGAIN. When the iPhone version came out, I paid almost 8 Euros for basic game and expansions. I told myself then, come on, the NDS version is 20 bucks! But that does not mean, I'd do it again. Plus: the iPhone version never had a kind of save state. In times of multitasking perhaps no prob, but I hate that I cannot quit an app in the midst of a game. This is antiquated, and I doubt the iPad app will be better in that regard. USM support is negligible, it took them almost a year to iron out the bugs in the iPhone Keltis. The basic Keltis game forces you to decide in advance which suit will be presumably the most successful. This color you will use to move your 'big' pawn which counts double. It's mostly a game of chance with mild strategical planning. In the much more interesting Keltis expansion, the paths change colors and there are special tiles allowing to remove cards. More info here:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/34585/keltis http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardga...ege-neue-ziele On the other hand Keltis Oracle with people is a real treat- you have so many tactical options to play cards, there is the 'oracle' pawn, the leprechaun tiles, the clover tiles for multiple jumps, the spiral tiles allowing backward moves etc. Perhaps the Oracle app could be saved with online multiplayer. As it is, unfortunately it's not a real challenge. Why you are even allowed to see your opponents' hands, is a mystery to me, more a bug than a feature ;-) By contrast, the Keltis AI (on the iPhone at least) is VERY clever on 'hard' setting, comparable with very good human players. I'm a little disappointed that there is no stat tracking for the main game.

Would anybody care to evaluate if the HD version will save your game state if you have to quit during a match? The iPhone version didn't.

Not sure if this will also work like this in the Campaign but expect it would be handled the same way (with each profile only allowed the one save from whichever mode they were last playing). |
