Apple really needs to disallow such releases to only one country. The best way I can see doing this is to merge all the stores in a continent into one store,so say for example the US and Canada stores would become part of the North American store. Absolutely absurd to release in only one country.

Canada is testing ground. This is not the official release. This release in Canada only is for testing. They check if the game works as they want and if the servers are stable. They don't intended to release it worldwide. You'll get the game sooner or later in your shop or with a canadian App Store account.

Yep. Canada has 1/10th the population of the USA, but with a similar culture and native language, making it an ideal testing ground. Even EA launches freemium titles like Sims Freeplay in Canada first.
