Anyway, I'm looking forward to the save feature and the fixing of the underground glitch. Aside from a little lagginess, this game is as good as the web version.
Well, I can see that those things that I would request out of this game are exactly along the lines of what others would ask for.

I would be a bit more specific about the save function, however. While first and foremost I want to be able to save when leaving the app so I can come back to where I left off, almost as important, I also want to be able to save at a point so if I die I can start over from the saved point rather than needing to start the entire game over again because I made a stupid mistake or the controls weren't responsive enough, or whathaveyou.

Great start, though. I'm quite hooked and want to see these couple of improvements to reduce the frustrations I currently have with the game...

Either the framerate is a little laggy or the controls aren't the best.

Other than that, I like it.

I'm glad that there has been an update, but given the length of game play, until there is a save function I've shelved this game. It just takes too long to try to get through it without ever stopping.

Even proper multitasking support would be a step in the right direction, but saving is what's really needed...

I find the controls problematic, at least on my iPhone 4. Sometimes it doesn't seem to register presses. Maybe I'm actually missing them, but in any case I find it a little irritating. It's a good game, but could be implemented on iOS better.

I can imagine that it would be hard to play on an iPhone. I didn't even realize that it was a universal app. Strictly iPad play for me...

Before getting too invested in a level, make sure there is a cave system on the level, it looks like a staircase going down. Also look for sand, you’ll need it for glass if you want to build a lantern.

Minicraft for iOS has been taken down, even though, I asked Notch for permission on Twitter in december and got an ok in Jan 2012 (he said as long as it was a Non-Commercial Release). I received this email yesterday.

Quote:
On 6/20/2012, we received a notice from Mojang AB and Notch Development AB that Mojang AB and Notch Development AB believes the app listed below infringes their intellectual property rights. In particular, Mojang AB and Notch Development AB believes you are infringing their copyright and trademark.

Developer: Phil Harvey
So, I have taken the game down, even though they were happy I had released as a Non-Commercial App, Notch has changed his mind and would prefer the game to be taken down. Source code is available at Minicraft AS3 / Flash Source code

Probably not the best idea to then give away source code when you have been given a cease and desist.
