Universal, retina graphics, controls that couldn't be any tighter, insanely awesome music...for a buck? This may be the first time Charles Manson's ever been quoted on TA, but I HAVE to ask:

The difficulty's starting to pick up on Normal at level 13... I'm just a little worried that this is going to be over before I know it. Otherwise, it's a fantastic, fantastic little game.

One thing though, the icon needs to be changed. It doesn't fit the game's aesthetics at all and doesn't give any impression of how good what's inside is.

It's a great game! A lot like Contra but more accessible. I too think the icon is a bit naff compared to the epic game! The game's graphics are very professional whilst the icon looks home drawn!

Scorpido is the best character. He's got this real badassedness about him.

It is indeed a steal for a dollar, you could be making double!

First off, thanks to everyone who's purchased so far.

Gabrien, I'll look into the action button positioning and see what I can do there. I have long fingers so I'll take that into account when I retest.

The easy mode is really just an answer for the fact that iphone has a lot of casual players, and I got feedback suggesting that even the easy mode would get complaints about difficulty. The difference with the easy mode is there are health pickups and shields on boss fights.

Yes there is a reason why my games all use pixel art. . . because I suck at the regular kind. I thought about just doing a pixelated icon with in-game graphics but thought it might have overdone the retro theme.

But thanks for your feedback, it's very useful to me going forward.

Definitely do a pixel-art icon. If anything, it will better represent the game's art style.

Really, the issue is made a lot worse in this instance by the fact that you are tapping on the "shoot" button constantly. Half an inch more to the right would make all the difference.

Regarding the icon, an admission: I saw it in the app store among the new releases before seeing this thread, and it never even occurred to me to click on it. It really does look rather cheap, and does the game a disservice.
