I've beat the game (on Easy), but I mostly used soldiers and arrows, with a bit of mages thrown in. I'm getting a little stuck in my ways, though, and having trouble with the more advanced levels on Normal.

Early on it depends what you upgrade, but I would suggest bomb and mage towers first.

In the later levels there will generally be two lanes which require different apporaches e.g. armor resistance on the left and magic resistance on the right.

Basically there is no magic bullet, you just need to analyse the situation and react accordingly, there are many small things you can do to win, and every level is possible without losing a single life on any difficulty - i've done it and i'm sure plenty of others too, but it takes some thinking and effort.

Great game, even my gf likes it (and she generally hates games)
