Log Day#1
Jumped into the cockpit and will try to take off soon. Maybe I will find some good freight runs, fight some pirates or whatever the universe will offer me! ^^
Godspeed!

Please note that the game is still in BETA phase! Because of this there are some bugs which might lead to problems playing the game. On the other hand you pay just a fraction of the normal price.

Frustrating. Here's hoping they clear it fast! I'm looking forward to it!

Last week's update fixed some issues with crashing on game startup, but now we're hearing of some devices - mostly ipods - that are crashing on character creation. The ipods we have here aren't doing that, so its been a difficult bug to track down. I suspect it may have something to do with people playing with internet connections going through a proxy, or shaky internet connections that drops packets, or security systems that block packets that have mysterious looking xml data in them. We're trying to get to the root of the problem. Basically, the problem we're seeing with some ipods is that the app sends a request out for data - the server gets the request - the server sends the response back - but the app never gets the response.

The HUD is undergoing a big change. The view that is currently in the map that shows the positions of planets, suns, stations, ships, etc, is being moved into the hud, and a simple touch on the map part of the hud will pop it up, and you can quickly "minimalize" it back into the hud. Not sure if that will make it into todays update, but it should be ready for next week's update.

The trade system will be getting some love and attention soon. Right now things are a bit wild and woolly regarding trade, and some players have figured out how to game the current system to make huge profits. The trade system that will be developed will be more in tune with how trade actually works in Traveller - where trade is basically a low-profit business to be in - unless you're willing to "bend the rules", and get privileged information from officials and merchants, at a price.

The "Rumor Engine" will be starting up soon, that will provide tidbits of valuable information.

We have a group of developers we call "Team AI", that is working on fixing and improving the AI system, so that the system created ships will start flying around normally, and have "personalities", such as "scardy cat" and "hostile", and "Police".

Actually, you can make a lot of money on trade in Traveller the RPG, as long as you have enough money to start with. 20% returns aren't uncommon on a good trade route.

Not having found the exploit you're talking about (sadly, lol) I don't know what the excessive profits you're seeing are.

We had some disruptions last week due to SXSW interactive, that the company had to attend, and we some shake ups in the staff, but the new map-in-hud feature should be going in today. AI is still in a broken state, we're going to come to a decision next Monday on what to do about it (if theres any Python experts in Austin, give us a call). The trade and mission systems will be getting attention over the coming weeks.

Any updates on this? Still sitting on my phone as I want to play it, just unfortunate it's not really playable at the moment, at least not enjoyably in my eyes!

Not sure if anyone is still interested in this but have been on the developers website and as thought they have canned the game. Says if anyone wants a refund do it through appstore and it will be given no questions asked.

Shame really as could of been good, hope Empire of the Eclipse is not heading the same way (must admit I want to buy that but not doing at the moment with all the apparent problems people have bought to light).

It's like the game died during character creation. (Reference to tabletop Traveller.)
